October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Dr. Paul has personally assisted in the diagnosis of a male patient with breast cancer. This does not ONLY affect the female population. The male population is at risk too!

And did you know that when it is caught early at a localized stage, the survival rate is 99%?!

Did you know? Dr. Paul adjusts newborns, infants and kids as well as adults! Hear from one of his patients on how Dr. Paul helped not just one, but THREE of her children with after-birth adjustments! The birthing process is difficult on mom's body as well as baby's body. That's why a lot of our expecting mothers also bring in their infant after birth to help the baby's body adjust to life outside of the womb.

NATIONAL POPCORN DAY?! While you kick back, relax, put on a movie and munch on some popcorn, why not throw a pack of ice on your spine while you're at it?

After getting adjusted, you will often hear Dr. Paul tell you to put some ice on. Oftentimes, when patients are in pain, their first instinct is to put heat on it. But that is the OPPOSITE of what you should be doing. Your spine is probably inflamed, so adding heat to heat is not going to make it better. Adding ice to the inflamed area is going bring down the swelling allowing you to move about more freely.

MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
Did you know? Regular chiropractic adjustments help promote blood flow throughout the body helping to get more oxygen and and nutrients to the brain while removing toxic waste, which in turn causes your brain to release chemicals that improve your body and cognitive function. Adjustments are a form of self-care too!
Dr. Paul is always willing to talk to patients about their mental health and wants to do whatever it takes to get your body and brain on the right path to a healthier you.

If you stopped by the office today, you may have noticed Dr. Paul in his "Perry blue" shirt. On a typical Friday, Dr. Paul wears red for "Red Friday" but today, he and the rest of the state of Iowa wore blue.
All of us here at Kerkhoff Chiropractic want to send our thoughts, payers and condolences to anyone who was a victim of the horrific tragedy that occurred in Perry yesterday.
