“Before we started care at Adapt Family, my 2-year-old son was only saying one word, “dada”, and making very few different sounds. Although he understood everything we said, he struggled to get words out. We tried everything we were advised to do, several sessions of speech therapy, reading lots of books, mimicking animals and objects, narrating our daily activities, and following all the typical recommendations for encouraging speech, but nothing made a difference in his progress.
By age two, his lack of speech was affecting nearly every part of our daily life. Simple interactions became challenging, and it was often difficult for us to understand each other.
A close mom friend who trusts Gonstead chiropractic care for her family encouraged us to give Adapt Family a try. I had a few doubts at first because I knew very little about chiropractic care and had no previous experience, but I love the way that each appointment is treated as if it’s my son’s first appointment in relation to thoroughly checking him out.
Since beginning care in April 2025, my 2-year-old says more words than we feel a need to keep track of any longer, is now using full sentences, and mimics almost every sound! He talks literally all day, non-stop now. In less than six months of getting chiropractic care, his entire personality and confidence have shifted. I have noticed my son is way less shy, he is more open to talking to and being around strangers.
I would hope that any parent dealing with a speech delay would take a chance on getting their child chiropractic care. A speech delay has so many possible underlying causes, and different approaches, including chiropractic care, may help support their progress.
