If you’ve been doing reflex exercises for months and nothing is changing, it’s not because you didn’t try hard enough.

Many kids don’t struggle because a reflex is “stuck.” They struggle because their brain doesn’t have the energy to turn it off.

That’s why adding more exercises can feel exhausting instead of effective. The brain is already overwhelmed.

When we focus on supporting brain energy and calming abnormal tension in the body, something shifts. Movement becomes easier. Regulation improves. And reflexes often fade without hours of repetitive work.

This is why some kids finally make progress in days instead of months.

If your child feels stuck and this finally connects some dots, you don’t have to figure this out alone.

If you’ve ever looked at your child and thought,
“Why is this so hard for them?”
you’re not alone.

Many kids who struggle with reading, attention, coordination, or behavior aren’t lacking effort or intelligence. Their nervous system never fully finished an early step of development.

Those early reflexes are supposed to fade so the brain can build stronger skills on top. When they stay active, everything above them has to work harder just to keep up.

That’s why some kids skip lines when reading, lose their place on a page, or seem exhausted by tasks that shouldn’t be this draining.

This is not a discipline issue.
It’s not a motivation problem.
And it’s not something you caused.

When the nervous system is supported the right way, the brain can finally organize and mature. And when that happens, progress feels real instead of forced.

If this resonates, I wrote a book to help parents understand what’s actually happening and what to do next.

If your child is constantly dysregulated, anxious, or living in a fight or flight state, this is one of the therapies that can help calm their system. 🧠💛

In this video, we are using a Stimpod to activate the auricular branch of the vagus nerve. The vagus nerve is a major player in helping kids regulate, stay calm, digest well, and downshift out of overwhelm.

When this nerve is underactive, kids struggle with emotional control, behavior, and overall regulation.

A powerful part of this therapy is what we learn during the process. When we first begin, many kids cannot feel the stimulation until the device is turned up quite high. That tells us their vagal system is not communicating well. As we repeat the therapy and improve vagal tone, that number goes down.

Their system begins to feel the input sooner, which is a key sign their body is learning to regulate again.

Supporting the vagus nerve is one of the most effective ways to help a child who lives in fight or flight finally shift into calm. 🌿
