👂 Babies Can Hear Your Heartbeat — And It’s One of Their Favorite Sounds

Long before birth, your baby lives in a world of rhythm.

đź’“ Inside the womb, the loudest and most constant sound your baby hears is:
• your heartbeat
• your blood flow
• your breathing

👶 By around 18–20 weeks, babies can hear internal sounds clearly — and your heartbeat becomes a steady, calming background.

đź’ž Researchers believe this familiar rhythm helps babies feel:
• soothed
• regulated
• safe

That’s why after birth, many babies calm down when held chest-to-chest —
they’re hearing the sound that meant home for months.

Remember that Christmas doesn't get thrown out with the tree. It doesn't get tucked away in the boxes when we put away all the ornaments and snowmen. It doesn't disappear for another year, even though my reindeer does.

No, no, no. Christmas continues. Because Christ continues to live. In you. In me. In all who believe.

And while Christmas reminds us that he was born to die, EVERY DAY AFTER reminds us that he died so we can live.

He died so when we stand alone we never truly are.

He died so we can face each day with His spirit alive and well in us.

He died so we can live lives of great hope and expectant joy.

….even in the midst of seemingly hopeless situations.

….even when the things of earth fail us and fall heavy all around us.

May Christmas continue through you this year.

In Bethlehem’s silence, beneath stars arrayed,
A humble manger cradled promise made—
For unto us a Child is born,
Wonderful Counselor, Hope in the morn.

Angels proclaim: “Behold, great joy for all,
A Savior now dawns, in a lowly stall;
Mighty God, Prince of Peace, Love without end,
He dwells among us—our Savior, our Friend.

The Word became flesh, pure grace unfurled,
In Jesus, the Father’s love touched our world;
Everlasting light, our darkness undone,
Immanuel with us—God’s glorious Son.

May His peace reign in every heart tonight,
May His joy, like shepherd’s awe, shine bright;
For unto us, the birth of Christ proclaims
A world redeemed, and hope that forever remains.

Merry Christmas from the staff of Christian Life Resources

At Christmas, many remember a young family searching for shelter, carrying new life and hope. This month, you helped a family just like them, making sure they were not alone.

Carrie* had struggled with homelessness before. When her baby arrived early this month and she had to stop working, she and her fiancé fell behind on rent, utilities, and other bills.

Choosing life was already difficult—but this unexpected setback brought fear and panic. Would they be without shelter again? How could she protect her baby?

Thanks to your generosity, Carrie's family now has secure housing—and peace of mind during this special season.

Too often, fear of how to provide for a child drives women toward abortion.

But your support of Wisconsin Right to Life’s Emergency Grant Program meets mothers at their most vulnerable moments—during pregnancy and after birth—showing them they are not alone when they choose life.

Your gift is a lifeline: it keeps mothers housed, helps them keep their jobs, covers transportation and medical bills—and gives babies the greatest gift of all: life.

This season, as many around the world reflect on a family who found no room at the inn, let us make room for families like Carrie's. When we embrace them, they can embrace life and hope.

There is much in life that might cause us to be afraid, but we no longer need to be afraid of God. Our sins have been forgiven. One day, heaven will be our home. And on that day when we leave this world of sin and sorrow, we will enter into an eternity of happiness and bliss, together with the angels. This is our sure promise because of the baby born in Bethlehem—our Savior, Christ the Lord. Christian, do not be afraid. Rejoice!
