Bodywork for Babies Workshop (In person)
Near Milwaukee, Wisconsin
May 31 - June1, 2024
A clinical application course of fusing craniosacral therapy (Upledger) with visceral techniques (modified Barral), lymphatic drainage and lympho-fascia (Chikly) methods, along with interstitial tissues and fluid exchanges.
These methods with the use of the "just right touch" proves to be very effective in relieving colic, reflux, constipation and digestive unease. Torticollis and plagiocephaly resolve with faster and lasting effects. Breastfeeding and sucking improves. And clinical evidence of best practice for tongue tie management is to include bodywork pre- and post-surgical releases. Tongue ties are whole-body fascia issues.
Fascia is a sensory organ and one of the regulators of the Autonomic Nervous Systems. Treating babies requires skills and palpation that is in perfect sync with the ANS.

TRANSFORM YOUR PEDIATRIC THERAPY PRACTICE with:

Bodywork for Sensory Integration is a collection of 20+ years applying craniosacral and similar therapies to each of the human sensory system.....for optimal wellness.

The olfaction (sense of smell) is a primary sense extremely important sensory health. Noses and faces can be compressed, viruses can inflame nerve endings, or stress in the digestive system can determine the level of comfort we have about odors.

Bodywork methods help ease structural stress and releases tissue and vasculature to help a self-correction into a 'just right place' of being.

Books are available for purchase. Written for the pediatric practitioner already trained or interested in bodywork methods.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Bodywork for Sensory Integration offers a fusion between the sciences of structural medicine and neurobehavioral principles. While structural medicine suggests ways to discern the autonomic state continuum of the whole body, neurobehavioral principles, such as self-regulation and sensory modulation management, have become a primary need in therapeutic services for babies and children. Determining if irregular behaviors are “sensory” or “behavioral” is a daily challenge facing pediatric therapists.

It is well-accepted that sensory and behavioral difficulties reflect autonomic nervous system physiology. Tension and tone of organs, blood vessels, and lymphatic movement play an underappreciated role in sensory regulation. The function of fascia and connective tissue, autonomic states of organs, cranial nerve pathways, and innervation sites hold important implications as sensory integration challenges are treated. The walls of blood vessels nestled in masses, the meninges’ tension, and the sensory cells’ structural health all have information relevant to sensory wellness.

The sensory-compromised person whose body feels uncomfortable can benefit from Bodywork for Sensory Integration. Parenting a child with neurodiversity or sensory differences can be made easier by understanding the lessons revealed through receiving bodywork. Tangible strategies help the whole family move towards a place of comfort, adaptability to sensory responses, homeostasis, and stress management.

The information presented in this book came from a most valuable resource: the author’s clients. Kratz learned these lessons and shaped the opinions from an estimated 45,000 patient encounters.

Bodywork for Sensory Integration supports formal education in various methods and guides the practitioner in discovering structural issues behind sensory challenges. Professionals with a license to touch people can learn these techniques to assist clients towards self-correction for modulation, regulation, and behavioral function related to all branches of sensory wellness.
