Steve & Lucy: Commonheart Volunteers

Steve began volunteering after seeing the joy his dog Lucy brought to residents while visiting his father in memory care. Inspired to continue sharing that comfort, Steve and Lucy joined the Commonheart Volunteer program as a therapy team.

Today, they visit hospice patients across several communities, bringing smiles, comfort, and connection. Lucy’s friendly presence often brightens even the hardest days, especially for those who miss the companionship of animals. Steve values the meaningful moments and relationships that grow during each visit, knowing even small acts of kindness can make a lasting impact.
