As National Public Safety Telecommunications Week wraps up, we wanted to share more about our team and communication centers.
Our Flight Communicators operate at a high level every day. While their role is essential to our mission, the depth and complexity of what they manage behind the scenes often goes unrecognized.
They are the first point of contact for our organization; handling calls from Hospitals and Dispatch Centers. Whether coordinating an air medical request for a critically ill patient or navigating limited availability, they remain composed and solutions-focused under pressure.
Their responsibilities extend far beyond answering phones. They coordinate aircraft readiness at all hours, secure fuel arrangements in the middle of the night, and organize ground transport to ensure seamless patient transitions. They manage communications across multiple channels, activate key personnel, facilitate operational briefings, and ensure critical information is accurately relayed throughout each mission.
At the same time, they are documenting reports, tracking ongoing operations, and anticipating next steps; often juggling several priorities simultaneously. While most are asleep, they are monitoring flights, coordinating with partner programs, and maintaining situational awareness to support safe outcomes for every patient and crew.
To our team/our family: your professionalism, precision, and commitment do not go unnoticed. You are a vital part of what makes this work possible, and your impact is felt in every successful mission. Thank you for everything you do each and every day.
