In honor of Día de los Mu***os, our Townin’ Around group rode the city bus to Prairie Home Cemetery to honor the late, great Les Paul. 🎸 We talked about how Waukesha’s creativity and artistic culture are deeply inspired by this hometown icon — whose innovations in music and technology changed the world. For those who may not know, Les Paul, born in Waukesha in 1915, was a legendary musician and the inventor of the solid-body electric guitar and multi-track recording.
At his gravesite, we respectfully left small ceramic flowers made by Art Links Works artists for Les and his mother (who rests beside him). We shared a moment of silence and reflection, discussing how his legacy encourages us to stay creative and never give up on our ideas.
Afterward, we strolled through the cemetery looking for hidden gems. The group noted how watching the birds and taking in the autumn colors felt peaceful and inspiring — a beautiful way to celebrate creativity, remembrance, and connection. 🍂✨
