🖤 Today we honor Black Balloon Day.

On Black Balloon Day, we pause to remember the lives lost to addiction and overdose. Each black balloon represents a person who was deeply loved — a friend, a son or daughter, a parent, a sibling. Their stories matter, and their memories deserve to be held with compassion and respect.

Today we stand with the families, friends, and communities who carry this loss every day. We light a candle, release a balloon, say their names, and commit ourselves to spreading awareness, reducing stigma, and supporting recovery.

Addiction does not define a person. Every life lost was a life that mattered.

🖤 If you are remembering someone today, feel free to share their name or a memory in the comments so we can honor them together.

Some words of wisdom that serve as a good reminder for us all!

When Lisa graduated our program at the end of last year, we asked her "What would you say to yourself who was just starting treatment if you could say anything?" and she told us "I would say ‘It’s going to be tough. Going to be hard to adjust. But you do not know just how strong you are.'"
