Get to Know Kira! 🌟

Meet Kira, our Assistant Director of Operations, who loves working at WisHope because, as she puts it, “we’re actually allowed to be human beings here - and what's to dislike about being able to help people?" Kira wears many hats here at WisHope but her main focuses are streamlining intake operations and overseeing a handful of our marketing initiatives.

If you are looking to treat yourself to an amazing local meal out, she recommends Ca'lucchenzo in Wauwatosa. In her spare time, she occasionally decides that regular adulthood isn’t dramatic enough and jumps into a musical or play “for funsies,” because why not? She also enjoys spending time with her furry family members (pictures included because who doesn't love cats & dogs, duh). Her retirement dream is to build a tiny home in the mountains and selling homemade soap on Etsy - she may even have a few more pets. And if you’re wondering what kind of season she is, the answer is Fall — 100% — crisp air, cozy vibes, and a candle addiction waiting to happen.🍂

Help us congratulate Lisa on her recovery!

Lisa completed WisHope's recovery program last week. We asked Lisa "What would you say to yourself who was just starting treatment if you could say anything?" and she told us "I would say ‘It’s going to be tough. Going to be hard to adjust. But you do not know just how strong you are.'"

Today reminded us why we do what we do. 🌟

Family Day brought together not just people, but stories—stories of resilience, shared struggle, and incredible hope. On a November day that felt more like spring, we were surrounded by warmth in more ways than one.

Every person who spoke today—whether sharing lived experience, professional insight, or a parent’s love—reminded us that recovery is not an individual journey. It is collective. It is brave. And it is possible.

We’re honored to stand with those who have walked through darkness and chosen light, and with families who continue to show up with courage, faith, and fierce love.

Together, we are rewriting the narrative around substance use and mental health. One story at a time.

Halloween Fun at the Office! 👻🎃

Our team went all out this Friday for Halloween with some amazing costumes.

We had a blast seeing what creative costumes everyone put together! Can't wait to see what everyone puts together for next year.

Last night, a few of our team members attended the George IV Recovery Foundation Golf Outing and Dinner — and what an incredible evening it was!

It was truly inspiring to see the community come together in support of recovery and to help destigmatize substance use disorder. The Foundation is currently working on an important initiative: advocating for Narcan boxes to be mandated in schools. You can check out their video here: https://youtu.be/WJiJfwIH-1E?feature=shared
