"I isolated when I was in active addiction, when I first got here I didn't feel alone, I felt worthy. They gave me a meaning and a purpose to life. They made me feel like I mattered, like my life was worth it, they made me feel like I could do this. Recovery is possible because not too long ago I didn't think I would be in this position." - Fransisco

April is Alcohol Awareness Month

Alcohol is one of the only drugs we question not using. But why don't we talk about it?

Because when something is legal and everywhere, it’s easy to believe it’s harmless.

It’s not.
Alcohol is ethanol. A toxic substance your body works hard to eliminate.
It changes brain chemistry and can create real physical dependence.
And millions of people struggle with it silently… while it’s completely normalized in everyday life.

This Alcohol Awareness Month, we’re not here to shame anyone—we’re here to tell the truth.

If alcohol is affecting your life, your relationships, or your peace of mind… it matters, and you deserve support without judgment.

You don’t have to wait until it gets worse.
You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Recovery is real. It starts with reaching out.
WisHope Recovery is here for you on your first steps of recovery.

Patrick is today's Sober Spotlight!

Help us congratulate Patrick on his recent graduation from our residential treatment program!

Patrick continues to show what it means to put in the work day in and day out. Through the ups and downs, he’s remained committed to bettering himself and staying focused on his goals. His growth hasn’t just been about sobriety, it’s been about building a stronger mindset, showing up for himself, and continuing to move forward no matter what comes his way.

Patrick’s journey is a reminder that real change takes consistency, courage, and heart. The progress he’s made is something to be proud of, and we’re honored to be a part of his story.

Congratulations to one of our newest graduates, Todd!

Since entering our residential treatment program, Todd has experienced growth in so many areas. One of the most powerful changes we’ve seen is his willingness to share his journey and the impact his story has on others.

Speaking openly about recovery can inspire and give hope to those who need it most. If you have a story to share, we’d love to hear it!

We’re back on our graduation train!

A HUGE congratulations to Jennifer on her recent graduation from our residential treatment program. It has been incredible to witness her growth throughout her journey. Not only have we seen the changes, but Jennifer has recognized that growth within herself as well.

Recovery is about so much more than sobriety. It’s about building a stronger mindset, improving mental and physical well-being, reshaping your perspective, and continuing to grow every single day.

Jennifer has truly embodied all of this growth, and we couldn’t be more proud of how far she has come. 💙

🖤 Today we honor Black Balloon Day.

On Black Balloon Day, we pause to remember the lives lost to addiction and overdose. Each black balloon represents a person who was deeply loved — a friend, a son or daughter, a parent, a sibling. Their stories matter, and their memories deserve to be held with compassion and respect.

Today we stand with the families, friends, and communities who carry this loss every day. We light a candle, release a balloon, say their names, and commit ourselves to spreading awareness, reducing stigma, and supporting recovery.

Addiction does not define a person. Every life lost was a life that mattered.

🖤 If you are remembering someone today, feel free to share their name or a memory in the comments so we can honor them together.

Some words of wisdom that serve as a good reminder for us all!

When Lisa graduated our program at the end of last year, we asked her "What would you say to yourself who was just starting treatment if you could say anything?" and she told us "I would say ‘It’s going to be tough. Going to be hard to adjust. But you do not know just how strong you are.'"

It has been awhile since we have had a graduate!

Help us congratulate Juliet on her recent graduation from our residential treatment program!

We have seen so many people grow while they are with us and Juliet is one of those people. Juliet has grown and become more accountable during her time with us. Not only do we see it, but she also does.
