Here are some common things people apologize to us for that don’t really bother us at all:
1. Having a lot of knots or areas of tension in your body.
If your goal is a therapeutic massage to work out knots and tense muscles, then we don’t care if you have one area of tension or many. Also, if certain muscles get overly tight or overworked, they can affect other areas of the body, so it’s common to have multiple places that might need work. There’s no need to apologize for this. Just keep in mind that if you want a therapeutic massage and have more than 1-2 areas you’d like focused on, then it’s best to book a 90-minute massage so we have plenty of time to work out all the muscles that might be causing any pain/discomfort.
2. Falling asleep.
This is actually a compliment for a therapist! If you fall asleep while getting a massage, it means that your body and mind are in a truly relaxed state. It’s always a goal of ours to provide you with a calming, stress-free service, so please feel free to doze away if you want to. Plus, your muscles still reap the benefits of massage while you snooze, so it’s a win-win!
3. Not shaving your legs
It doesn’t matter to us if you just shaved your legs or if you haven’t shaved in over a month. We can give a great massage regardless of body hair. So no judgement here. :)
