We’re excited to share a new technique here at Ebb & Flow Massage & Wellness — Bamboo-Fusion™ Massage!

Last month, Deidra and I had the opportunity to learn this modality directly from its founder, Nathalie Cecilia, who developed Bamboo-Fusion™ over 20 years ago. I’ve followed her work for years, and it was such an inspiring experience and an absolute honor to finally train with her in person.

Bamboo-Fusion™ is a style of massage that blends manual therapy with smooth, warm bamboo tools, to deliver deep pressure that feels therapeutic, yet soothing. The gentle heat helps soften muscles, allowing for greater relaxation, improved circulation, and enhanced mobility.

We’re thrilled to bring this unique and rejuvenating style of bodywork to our clients. And because we can’t wait for you to experience this deeply relaxing and therapeutic massage, we’re offering 10% off all Bamboo-Fusion™ sessions now through the end of the year. Your muscles (and your nervous system) will thank you.

Here’s what some of our clients are saying about the new service:

“I love the new bamboo fusion modality that Jamie is offering! So relaxing, yet energizing at the same time. Always a wonderful experience!” - Aubrey J.

“Had a bamboo stick massage. Amazing! Deidra is the best!!!” - Carrie C.

“For the 1st time I tried some of Jamie’s services using bamboo fusion. Truly amazing. Hot bamboo sticks melt your muscles like butter and apply pressure to all the hidden knots and trigger points. Highly recommend!!” - Melissa C.

More about Jamie B:

Hi, I’m Jamie, a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Reiki Master. I have a deep love of human anatomy and physiology and spent half a decade as an educator for the massage therapy program at IBW Madison. I’ve built my practice around the philosophy that massage goes beyond just working the muscles and soft tissue; it works with the nervous system to help calm and regulate it. Since the body and mind are so deeply interconnected, it’s clear to me that healing happens best when both are nurtured. It is my hope and belief that the work I do supports a therapeutic mind-body experience.

As a healer, my goal is simply to help people feel their best. I strive to create a safe, soothing space that cultivates trust. I invite clients to develop greater body awareness and tap into any unconscious holding patterns. Once the client and I have identified and isolated problem areas, I create a tailored session to address pain, tightness, and restriction, allowing the body and mind to unwind.

I draw from a range of modalities, including Swedish massage, reflexology, cupping, myofascial release, hot stone massage, and Reiki (a gentle yet powerful energy healing practice). My favorite areas to work on? The neck, upper traps, and shoulder muscles, which are common areas for tension to live.

When I am not at my massage studio, I love to read, try new foods, garden, connect with nature, and find fun activities to do with my 3 teenage boys.

More about Deidra D:

My name is Deidra and I have been a massage therapist since 2023. I know it sounds cliche, but I got into this profession because I want to help people feel better. I love helping people relax while also providing therapeutic work to help ease their musculoskeletal pain. I like to tailor my massage to the client’s needs for that day, whether that’s a lighter pressure relaxation massage or deep tissue work to help relieve pain. I like to incorporate Swedish, myofascial, and trigger point techniques to my massage. I am also learning Bamboo Fusion technique and am excited to incorporate this into my massages, as well.
Prior to joining the massage industry, I got my Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and I spent 11 years in various positions in the financial, government, and health insurance industries. I decided that the corporate world wasn’t for me so made the switch to massage.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing volleyball, going to the gym, hiking, reading, traveling both domestically and internationally, and cooking. I also like going to different restaurants and trying new foods and drinks.

More about Kat O:

Hi, I’m Kat, a Licensed Massage Therapist and graduate from The Institute of Beauty and Wellness-Madison.

I enjoy giving a wide range of massages, from pure relaxation to deeply therapeutic. My favorite parts of the body to massage are the back, neck, and scalp, and I love to incorporate a mix of techniques into my sessions. I specialize in medium to medium-firm pressure, but I’m happy to tailor my pressure to meet your needs.
Beyond the hands-on portion of a massage, I believe in the importance of hospitality and creating a calming, respectful environment for each of my clients.

In my free time, I love playing with my two kids, writing novels, reading as many books as I can get my hands on, and tackling way too many painting projects.

More about Jami “Elle” N:

I’m Elle, and I graduated from UW Madison with degrees in Kinesiology and Spanish. After almost a decade of bouncing around in different professions in the “real world,” I came across Massage Therapy as a way to combine my love of learning about the body with my desire to help people. I specialize in relaxation massage and am frequently told I create a healing environment in which it is safe to “turn off” from the world. My favorite part of the body to massage is the upper back and neck.

I’m also currently working on a certification for pediatric massage that I would love to use to help kiddos with emotional regulation.
In my spare time, I have an English Bulldog named Biggie who requires lots of snuggles. There is usually a craft of the week or a kitchen experiment happening (this week’s are an Everything Parmesan Bread and crushed velvet resin ;) )

My boyfriend has 2 children that keep us running - there’s usually some sort of youth sporting event (go Wildcats!) or other various activity keeping us on our toes. When we do have free time, we love to find live music. Most recent concerts were Dirty Heads and Odesza.

A friendly reminder that starting on October 6th, we’ll be increasing our service rates and will be moving to a no-tip policy.

That’s right, no tips. This means the price you see when you book is the final price you’ll pay. We hope this makes your check out experience just as relaxing as the massage itself!

If you’d like to book a service at our current rates, appointments are still available! Just be sure when you book that you schedule your appointment date between now and October 3rd.

At Ebb and Flow Massage, we offer 30, 60, 90, and 120-minute massages. While you do reap benefits from any length of massage, it’s a good idea to keep your goals in mind when deciding what session length you should book.

30-minute massages work best if you have 1-2 areas you’d like your massage therapist to focus on. Have you been sitting at a desk all week (or month!) and your neck and shoulders are bothering you? Did you recently take a long plane ride and could use a quick massage for your cramping legs? A 30-min massage would work great to address these localized issues. **And just a reminder for our 30-minute massages, clients are fully clothed the entire time and therefore should wear comfortable clothing like you would when getting a sports massage.

60-minutes is the perfect amount of time to get a half-body massage. This gives your massage therapist time to focus on 2-4 areas that might need special attention. We usually recommend picking one half of the body you’d like focused on, examples: upper body only, hips and legs only, etc. While it is possible to do a full-body massage in an hour, that’s a lot of muscles to cover in a short time. So the massage would have to be superficial as opposed to therapeutic, meaning no deeper work or time to focus on relieving knots and areas of tension.

Are you looking for a full-body massage that leaves you feeling oh-so relaxed and pampered? 90-minute sessions are perfect for you!

120-minute massages are for those looking for all the benefits of a full-body massage, plus the addition of getting extra time for therapeutic work on any tension-filled areas. Some knotted muscles just need a little more time before fully relaxing, and that’s perfectly okay! Two hour sessions allow your therapist to try a number of techniques (like deep tissues, myofascial, and cupping) to help relieve tight muscles.
