It’s ok to not be ok… and it’s ok if you’re feeling overwhelmed. It’s ok if you’re not able to do what you are used to being able to do. It’s ok if you’re not able to do everything you want to do.

In this space, it’s ok. Whatever you carry with you, whatever you’re not able to do.. it’s ok. Whatever you’re feeling. Whatever. We are here for it. For you. For all of you. 💜

Important Cancellation Policy Update: There are fundamental teachings in yoga that ask us to be mindful of the consequences of our actions, to act intentionally to limit harm (ahimsa / non-violence), and to be committed to the practices that support our individual and collective liberation (tapas / discipline).

As a way to practice these principles, and to encourage you to do the same, we are adjusting some of our policies.

We want to support a positive work-life balance for instructors who commit their time and energy to classes each week, while honoring the time of the students who are committed to classes in our community.

* If you are signed up for a class, and YOU cancel within NINE hours of class time, or do not show up, you will forfeit any pass used to book OR incur a $15 fee if you are using an unlimited pass.

* If you are signed up for a class, and WE cancel within NINE hours of class time, you will be refunded any class pass used to book, AND receive a $15 credit on your account to spend on any class pass, membership, or special event. Cannot be used on retail.

* If we don’t have at least TWO students signed up NINE hours before class start time, we will cancel.

Students on the waitlist are auto-added up to 60 minutes before class as others drop from registration, so please cancel your waitlist reservation as soon as you decide you are not coming before that time to avoid being charged a cancellation fee, and so that others on the waitlist can have the opportunity to attend.

THIS CHANGE WILL GO INTO EFFECT BEGINNING:  11:59pm 1/17

We appreciate your understanding, and your help as we work to accommodate as many of the students who are eager to attend classes, and also to prevent loss on our end when we reserve our time and space for you 🙏💜

It’s been four months since I started growing fresh food and flowers inside Sapphire Studios 😍🥬🥗🫜🌻

I gotta admit - this new hobby has given me so much more than just fresh, clean, nutrient packed food… it is given me something to look forward to on days when life seemed daunting. I feel so much excitement every time I get to go check on my little plant babies, and see how much they have grown. And oh my goodness - the flavors!!? I might be addicted to gardening.

So what does this have to do with yoga?

The first Yama (ethical principles) in Yoga is Ahimsa - which translates to mean non-violence or non-harming. By reducing the toxic load of pesticides and unhealthy fertilizers, growing fresh food hydroponically creates less toxic load on the body. If you read the yoga sutras, it explains that the whole purpose of the physical practices in yoga, such as Asana, are to clear the body of toxins that prevent us from meditating and achieving clarity and liberation. Basically, it’s much harder to meditate and connect to your inner source energy if there’s disease in your body.

There’s also a beautiful practice of non-attachment when you plant a seed. While carrying some expectation that the seed will grow in time keeps us from digging it up and demanding that it produce fruit every day, there’s also an understanding that not every seed takes. Not every seedling should stay. Sometimes you have to prune your sprouts to give nourishment to the parts you want to grow strongest, just like, how there are times we must choose between many things that we want in order to pursue the things that matter most to us. It’s important to learn that while we can do many things, we can’t do all the things.

I feel like I could go on and on about this topic so I will write more about it soon. Do you have any thoughts on the subject? I’d love to hear about it in the comments. What hobbies do you have that keep you present and passionate about life?

Ps - interested in growing your own food at home? There’s a link in our bio for a discount if you want your own tower gardyn, and it helps me out a little bit when you order through my link. 🤗💜🙏
