The duties of the Housekeeper include, but are not limited to, the following:
Able to sweep, mop, and polish floors; vacuum carpets; clean restrooms; wash windows and walls; move and arrange furniture and equipment; pick up outside refuse.
Dress in appropriate uniform and be at appointed workstation promptly when the shift starts and work consistently until the shift ends.
Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Demonstrate ability to clean and sanitize areas of responsibility consistent with facility policy and procedure.
Attend all facility and department in-service training.
Work in cooperation with all other employees of the facility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for both residents and staff.
Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to facility safety program at all times.
Fulfill all other assigned duties by department head or facility Administrator.
The duties of laundry aide include, but are not limited to, the following:
Sorts soiled laundry in accordance with established infection control procedures.
Loads and unloads laundry into and out of washing and drying machines using laundry chemicals and monitors machines while in use.
Sorts, labels, folds, mends, counts and irons clean laundry.
Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained at all times. Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment and supply issues to the supervisor.
Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Guests/guests and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
Must answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Guest care areas.
Assists with training of new staff.
Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
