✨APRIL STAFF HIGHLIGHT | SIERRA GARTMANN ✨
Sierra’s journey with yoga is one that many people can relate to. She didn’t grow up in sports or dance and never considered herself naturally athletic or particularly flexible. When she found yoga at 18, it became something much more meaningful than just movement - it became a way to build confidence and reconnect with herself.
Originally from Wausau, Sierra spent a lot of time moving around growing up. Those experiences taught her how to embrace change while also appreciating the grounding power of consistency - something that now shows up beautifully in her approach to practice and teaching.
Her personal practice centers around gentle vinyasa, often weaving in arm balances, inversions, and smooth transitions when the moment feels right. But at its core, her philosophy is simple and powerful: Create usable space in the body that supports people in their everyday lives. Sierra practices because yoga reminds her that life, just like practice, moves in phases. Progress isn’t linear, and each day offers a new opportunity to meet yourself where you are.
When she’s not at the studio, Sierra enjoys reading, camping, and going to concerts. She’s also a mom to two girls and shares her home with what she describes as “way too many pets!”
Her classes are rooted in a belief that yoga is truly for anyone, no matter where you’re starting from. And what keeps her motivated? Simply put: the way yoga makes her feel, and the chance to share THAT feeling with others.
We’re so grateful to have Sierra as part of our SALT family
“Yoga was never meant to make you calm - yoga is meant to help you stay present inside discomfort. Calm is sometimes a result, but not the goal.”
