📢 PSA for Women Who Ever Used the Depo Shot (Depo-Provera)

A federal multidistrict litigation (MDL) has been established: “IN RE: Depo-Provera (Depot Medroxyprogesterone Acetate) Products Liability Litigation” in the Northern District of Florida.

A key study reported that women who used the shot for more than 12 months had a ~5.6× increased risk of intracranial meningioma.

As of late 2025, there are over 1,200 lawsuits filed.

If you (or someone you know) ever got the Depo shot and later dealt with unexplained neurological symptoms or a tumor diagnosis, it might be worth looking into your records or talking to an attorney familiar with drug-injury cases.

Wisconsin’s general timeline to file injury claims is about 3 years from the date you discovered the issue, so don’t wait if this applies to you.

Not sharing to scare anyone — just making sure women get the info we weren’t given at the time. 💛
Knowledge = power.

😅 When there’s a random gap on the schedule and my surgeon instincts kick in:

“Somebody somewhere needs a wisdom tooth out. I can FEEL it.”

🫡Cue me dialing patients like a telemarketer on espresso🤪

🌟 Happy ! 🌟

Today we honor the dedication, compassion, and hard work of Nurse Practitioners everywhere.

NPs play an essential role in healthcare, often bridging gaps, supporting teams, and bringing a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to every setting they serve. Our office works closely with many NPs at many clinics in many of roles in support of our patient care!

We want to take a moment to recognize our NP, Leah Bloechl-Gruna, who generously supports our practice in her own time. With a primary focus in endocrinology and aesthetics, she offers a steady, knowledgeable presence whenever she comes in—whether helping with patient post care, lending insight on labs, or simply being the smile we needed to see that day!

Her willingness to contribute outside of her primary role truly embodies what National NP Day celebrates: dedication, versatility, and a commitment to patient well-being.

💙 Thank you to her—and to all Nurse Practitioners—for the compassion and expertise you bring to the field every day.

🩺We appreciate you today and always 💖

🧠💙 Smiles & Minds: Keeping your teeth healthy doesn’t just protect your smile — it can also help protect your brain! 🪥✨

1. Brush, brush, brush your teeth, twice a day — hooray!Morning and night, keep those sugar bugs away!

2. Your mouth is like a tiny city — full of millions of busy bacteria! Some are good, but some can cause trouble if you don’t brush and floss.

3. You get two sets of teeth in your whole life!
First come your baby teeth, then your grown-up teeth — and those have to last forever!

4. Tooth enamel is super strong! It’s the hardest thing in your body — even stronger than bone! 💪

5. Fluoride is your tooth’s best friend!
It helps your enamel stay tough and fights off cavities.

6. Don’t forget to floss! Your toothbrush can’t reach between your teeth — that’s where sneaky food hides. 🍎

7. Your tongue needs a cleaning too!
Give it a little brush to keep your breath fresh and your smile happy.

8. Sweet treats can be sneaky! 🍬
Sugar loves to stick to your teeth, so rinse or brush after you eat it.

9. Losing teeth is a sign you’re growing up!
Most kids start losing baby teeth around age 6 — how exciting- you should be losing your last tooth around 12!!

10. Drink water every day! 💧Water helps wash away leftover food and keeps your mouth clean.

11. Visit the dentist twice a year!Dentists help make sure your teeth are healthy and strong.

12. Your smile is your superpower! 😁
Take good care of it, and it’ll shine bright wherever you go!

🇺🇸 11/11 : Honoring Our Veterans 🇺🇸

🩻FREE xrays for Veterans in November 🩻

Today, and every day, we honor the men and women who have served our country with courage, dedication, and selflessness. Your strength and sacrifice protect the freedoms we all enjoy.

❤️Nearly every family we treat has someone who has served — a parent, sibling, grandparent, or friend. Many have faced unique medical and dental challenges or in some cases fiscal challenges as a result of their service and VA coverage.

🤍It’s our privilege to provide care that helps restore comfort, function, and confidence.

🩻 As a small gesture of gratitude, Central Wisconsin Oral Facial & Aesthetic Surgery is offering FREE X-rays for veterans throughout the month of November, a $250 value. Just show your VA card, military ID, and/or drivers license!.

💙Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your strength. We are honored to care for those who have served our country.

To keep on subject we wanted to share: Even though they taste yummy, your teeth don’t love them…..

🍭🚫 The Worst Snacks for Your Teeth!

1. Sticky Candy 🍬
Things like gummies, taffy, fruit snacks, and caramel stick to your teeth and stay there — feeding sugar bugs all day long!

2. Soda & Sugary Drinks 🥤
Soda, sports drinks, and even some juices are full of sugar and acid that wear down your enamel (that’s the tough outer layer on your teeth).

3. Chips & Crackers 🍟
Surprising, right? Starchy snacks like chips, goldfish, or crackers turn into sugar in your mouth and get stuck between teeth.

4. Lollipops & Hard Candy 🍭
They stay in your mouth for a long time — giving sugar extra time to attack your teeth.

5. Chewy Granola Bars 🍫
Some have hidden sugars and sticky bits that cling to teeth just like candy

6. Sugary Cereal 🥣
Even breakfast can be sneaky! Sugary cereals coat your teeth with sticky sugar that bacteria love.

7. Dried Fruit 🍇
It sounds healthy, but raisins, fruit leathers, and dried mango are full of sugar and stick like glue to teeth.

8. Ice 🧊
It’s just water, but crunching on it can crack or chip your teeth!

🦷✨ Tooth-Friendly Swaps!
• Instead of gummies, try fresh fruit 🍓
• Instead of chips, try cheese or nuts 🧀
• Instead of soda, drink water or milk 🥛
• Instead of sticky snacks, stick to crunchy veggies like carrots or celery with a dip 🥕

💜 We’re honoring Alzheimer’s Awareness Month by highlighting a connection between oral health and brain health.

👩🏻‍⚕️👨🏼‍💻🧑🏽‍🔬Scientists have identified Porphyromonas gingivalis — a main culprit behind gum disease — in the brain tissue of people with Alzheimer’s disease. The harmful oral bacteria contributes to systemic inflammation, which is tied to cognitive decline.

🧩 While we can’t say that gum disease causes Alzheimer’s yet, the association is strong enough that oral health becomes another piece in the broader brain-health puzzle.

🪥🚰🩺Daily habits matter: brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups may play a role in protecting not just your smile but your cognitive health.
