We had a funeral home director come in and discuss with our residents about everything they can put in place when it comes to end-of-life services. It can definitely be a topic most want to avoid but we like to keep our residents prepared for any possibility and make sure they have a multitude of opportunities when it comes to informed decision making!

The month of March was filled with so much fun and activities! We really wanted to display our art efforts this month! We celebrated St. Patrick's Day by having shamrock shakes and crafting little Bags O' Luck. To celebrate spring finally coming around the corner we also decorated mini birdhouses to display outside of their apartments.

This week at Applegate, we stepped out of our routines and into a perspective that truly mattered.

In collaboration with our partners at the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin, our team and community experienced a powerful sensory simulation that offered a glimpse into what daily life can feel like for someone living with dementia. By temporarily altering our senses, we were reminded just how challenging and even overwhelming everyday moments can be - and how important patience, compassion, and understanding truly are.

Experiences like the help us grow, learn, and care even better. We are incredibly grateful to the ADRC for sharing this meaningful experience, and proud to be a community that leads with empathy, purpose, and heart.
