Stanley “Stan” Kacmarynski

age 58, of DePere, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday December 10, 2025. He was born in Green Bay on May 1, 1967. Stan graduated from Green Bay West High School and spent many years working at Bedford Paper in East De Pere. He enjoyed snowmobiling, deer hunting, riding his Spyder, and watching NASCAR, but his greatest joy was spending time up north in Goodman.

Stan is survived by his parents: Mary Paula and Bernard Wolosyn; and further survived by many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald.

Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Goodman. Burial will be this spring in Glenwood Cemetery.

Carl “Pa” “Rat” Renikow

age 64, of McAllister, passed away unexpectedly from an apparent heart attack on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Born in Marinette on May 24, 1961; the son of the late Raymond and Ellen (Watson) Renikow, Carl grew up locally in Marinette County, mainly residing in McAllister.

Carl was gifted with the apparent aptitude to live life to the fullest. He pursued most of his life endeavors with a wide-open, “I can do it”, attitude —running at 8,000 RPM and always pushing the envelope, reaching for 9,000 and more.

Gifted with superior mechanical aptitude, Carl would seemingly take on any project with the approach that he was going to “get it done” and he would use his gifts to skillfully tackle the task at hand with the precision of an experienced craftsman.

He had a wide variety of passions he enjoyed during his life, whether he was tearing down and redesigning an engine that could be used in another passion in his life, (any form of racing or the need for speed and horsepower); to the competitive sport of roping and loving the horses and lifestyle associated with it. Add in hunting and fishing and the passions become quite diverse.

One of Carl’s best passions was that of the desire to help others, whether it be family, friends, or strangers, (and not necessarily in that order), as his family would smilingly agree. Many who knew him could attest to his gracious help. He will be missed.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Jody; his children: Cody (Brittany) Renikow and Matti Renikow; siblings: Gene Sebero, Steve (Rita) Renikow, and Jane (Duane) Bucholtz; father-in-law, Matt Mattison; and further survived by extended family and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Morris; and mother-in-law, Mitzi Mattison.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Carl’s honor at noon on Saturday January 10, 2026, at the Amberg Community Center. This will be a time to share memories with family and friends. Visitation will be from 9am until the time of Carl’s service. A meal will be served immediately afterwards.

Genevieve “Gen” Wontor

age 99, of Wausaukee, entered eternal rest on Thursday December 4, 2025. She was born in Rengerslage, Germany on March 21, 1926; daughter of Jon and Paula (Semeniuk) Bednarz. Gen was born and raised in Germany during World War II. In 1952, she and her husband Joseph came to the United States and made their home in Chicago. In 1959 she moved to Wausaukee, where she raised her family. Gen was a devoted member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She loved tending to her garden and was widely known for her wonderful cooking. Her home was always a warm and welcoming place for family and friends.

Gen is survived by her daughter, Brigitte Wontor; son, Richard Wontor; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by children: Barbara, Andrew, Anthony (Christine), Bob, and Chrystine.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am on Wednesday December 10, 2025, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Wausaukee with Father Dave Schmidt presiding. Visitation is at church from 9am until the time of Mass. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Wausaukee. A luncheon will be served at St. Augustine Catholic Church after the burial.

Gen’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Sun Valley Assisted Living in Marinette for the dignity and compassionate care given to her. Also, a special thanks to Alice Sharpe for her care and Saturday morning breakfasts at Ranger City Restaurant.

Gen was a proud mother of her sons who served in the Marine Corp. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her name to Marinette County Emergency Veterans Fund, 1926 Hall Ave, Marinette WI 54143.

James “Jerry” Jerue

age 80, of Green Bay, passed away at home from complication of his short, but courageous battle with lung cancer on Thursday December 4, 2025. He was born in Goodman on November 14, 1945; son of the late Myron and Elaine (Frasier) Jerue. Jerry graduated from Goodman High School with the class of 1964, after which he enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served from 1964–1968 aboard the USS Hornet CVS-12 and received an honorable discharge. On January 9, 1971, he was united in marriage to Suzanne Stapleford at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Goodman.

He dedicated 29 years to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, beginning his career as a Deputy and retiring as a Sergeant Investigator. Outside of work, Jerry had a great love for golfing, hunting, and fishing. He was also an active member of the Goodman Lions Club. One of his proudest experiences was being selected to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight in July 2024 -an opportunity he cherished.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Suzie; two sons: Jimmey (Sandra) Jerue and Brandon (Sara) Jerue; three granddaughters: Kirsten Jerue, Samantha (LeeAnn) Zies, and Brandy Laster; great grandsons: Orson, Lucas and Cameron; and great granddaughter Brynn.

Along with Jerry’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service or viewing. Burial will take place at 1pm in Glenwood Cemetery, Goodman on Monday December 15, 2025. Military Honors will be provided by Winiecki VFW Post #9677 of Bellevue and Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs. Recognition for Jerry’s service to law enforcement will be provided by members of the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard.

age 89, of Armstrong Creek, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday November 13, 2025. He was born in Chicago on April 1, 1936, an April fool’s day baby; son of the late Charles and Alberta (Kutta) Konetsky. Don dedicated 32 years to a career with Best Foods in Summit Argo, IL. After retiring, he moved to Armstrong Creek, where he embraced the beauty and freedom of the wilderness. An avid outdoorsman, Don loved hunting and fishing, and he also enjoyed trap shooting and woodworking.

Don is survived by his two children: Jennifer (Gene) Larrabee and Charles Konetsky; grandchildren: Yolanda (Brandon) Olive and Rae (Zach) Malcore; three great grandchildren; and special friend, Janice Byrne. He was preceded in death by brother, Ronald Konetsky.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am on Tuesday December 2, 2025, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Armstrong Creek with Father Soja Joseph presiding. Visitation is at church from 10am until the time of Mass. Burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery in Goodman.

Joellen A. Simpson

age 90, of Wausaukee, passed away peacefully Monday October 20, 2025, at Rennes Health & Rehab-West. She was born in LaPorte, Indiana on April 2, 1935; daughter of the late William and Ruth (Smith) Gring Sr. She was united in marriage to Kenny Simpson on October 9, 1954. In 1979, they purchased a hobby farm, which they later restored before moving to the area in 1982. Joellen began volunteering at the Wausaukee Library, a role that eventually became her full-time job—a job she truly loved. She organized concerts in the park, proudly served as Queen Mom of the Red Hat Club, and was also active on the election board for both the Town and Village of Wausaukee. Joellen enjoyed keeping active.

Joellen is survived by her two children: Teri (Skip) Simpson and Donald (Laurie) Simpson; grandson, Jonathon (Elise), and great grandchildren: Drake, Ariana, and Brantley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny; and brothers: William Jr. and Earl.

Visitation will be on Saturday October 25, 2025, at Roubal Funeral Home from 9am until the time of her service at 11am. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

James J. Butzler

Born August 3rd, 1937 in Sparta Wisconsin, died peacefully October 19th, 2025 at the age of 88 years at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh, WI. Growing up near Sparta, Jim worked the family farm with his father, Al and mother, Marge raising and processing chickens and pigs. That experience stuck with him as chicken dinner was never his favorite meal. After graduating high school, Jim entered the seminary for a brief period. After that Jim joined the United States Navy in July, 1957. He served on the USS Randolf aircraft carrier as a deck hand and toured the Mediterranean before being honorably discharged in November, 1961.

Jim then worked construction, building bridges alongside his father Al with Lunda Construction for many years. That job led him to meet Carol Jean Monsen-Zenko while building the bridge north of Pembine. Jim and Carol Jean were married February 13, 1971. They were married over 50 years before Carol Jean’s passing in 2022. Jim was stepfather to Brad Zenko and father to Jay Butzler.

Jim then worked for Midwest Plastics in Pembine for several years until taking a job at GAF Kremlin Mine until his retirement.

Jim and Carol Jean were highly mobile keeping their main residence in Pembine, having a lake cabin in Armstrong Creek and wintering in Panama City Beach for many years. They were crowned the first King and Queen of Panama City Beach. They loved to be out and about and visit the casino as well as attending all the grandchildren’s birthdays and events.

Jim enjoyed golf, fishing for northern pike, deer hunting, trapping, craft making, pontoon rides and mostly being around people. Jim also was a member of the Pembine volunteer fire department for 20+ years, umpired little league games and ran the scoreboard for HS basketball. He was a long-standing member of the American Legion Honor Guard. Jim was a sweetheart of a man, kindhearted, helpful, never held a grudge, he was faithful and loved God, devoted to worshiping and always letting you know he loved you when signing off.

Jim is survived by his sons: Jay Butzler, (Jody) of Appleton, Brad Zenko (Peggy) of Fond du Lac. Four grandchildren: Mariam Butzler, Matthew Butzler, Kiefer Zenko (Colleen), Kelsey Zenko. Brother, Jerry Butzler, sister Charlene Metzger, sister Jeanie Butzler and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Marge Butzler and wife Carol Jean.

Jim, Dad, Grandpa, and friend will be dearly missed by many. The memories, his presence and love will live on to those closest to him.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am on Friday October 24, 2025, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Pembine with Father Joe Dorner presiding. Visitation is at church from 9:30am until the time of Mass. Burial will take place in Pembine Cemetery immediately after Mass with full Military Honors provided by American Legion Post #461.

age 78, of Athelstane, passed away peacefully at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna on Tuesday September 30, 2025. She was born in Clintonville on April 11, 1947; daughter of the late Floyd and Velda (Gruetzmaeher) Olson. On May 9, 1966, she was united in marriage to Ronald Jokipii in Iron Mountain. A graduate of Clintonville High School, she dedicated nearly 30 years to a career in retail sales. In retirement, she and Ron enjoyed riding their side-by-side and traveling to Mexico, Las Vegas, and on numerous cruises. She had a love for bowling and found joy in watching birds, especially hummingbirds.

Jane is survived by her husband, Ron; two children: Christine (Allan) Bolwerk and Kevin (Tara) Jokipii; three grandchildren: Riley, Allyson, and Ross; and a sister, JoAnne (Gerald) Desens. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Judy, Jean, Jim and Janice

Visitation will be on Saturday October 11, 2025, at Roubal Funeral Home from 10a.m. until the time of her Memorial Service at 11a.m. Pastor Lynn Martin is officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Athelstane.

age 90, of Brillion, passed away peacefully September 29, 2025, at Edenbrook of Appleton. He was born in Amberg on July 20, 1935; son of Alvin and Barbara (Anglemeyer) Perry. Henry enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country with honor and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. On March 2, 1956, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Jicha in Virginia. A skilled mechanic, Henry worked in Milwaukee for 30 years and also spent many years working in the woods. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, bowling, throwing horseshoes, and relaxing with a cold Milwaukee’s Best.

Henry is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four children: Donna Danowski, Wanda (Daniel) Girmschied, Joseph (Laurie) Perry and Randall (Patricia) Perry; 11 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; two siblings: Lyman and Emma; and numerous extended family and friends.

age 97, of Amberg, died peacefully at home on Sunday September 28, 2025. She was born in Wausaukee on March 8, 1928; daughter of Joseph and Anna (Koza) Wontor. Helen married John Parysz on June 14, 1952, in Chicago. She loved gardening, cooking, hosting family gatherings, and playing cards, but most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and grandpuppies.

Helen is survived by her two children: Patty (Mark) Vanden Bergh and Daniel Parysz; granddaughters: Megan, Sara (Neil), and Katie (Casey); one great granddaughter, Millie; brother, Edward; and further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She preceded in death by her husband, John; and seven brothers.

Louise Mary Johnson

age 91, formerly of Pembine, died peacefully Sunday September 21, 2025, at NewCare in Crivitz. She was born in Pembine on November 24, 1933; daughter of Andrew and Elma (Sudeth) Zenko. Louise married Robert Johnson on November 22, 1952, and they shared 44 years together until his passing on June 22, 1997. She was a gifted seamstress and worked at Tip Top Shows, as well as a CNA at Maryhill Manor and NewCare Convalescent Center. Louise enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, and cheering for football—especially the Lions and Packers. Above all, she cherished her family and the time spent with her grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Grandma Good Cookies.”

Louise is survived by her children: Sandy Rosenkranze of Weyauwega, WI, Rhonda Erdey of Oshkosh, Dan (Debra) Johnson of Pembine, James (Ann) Johnson of Beecher, Andrew Johnson of Racine, Randy Johnson of Oshkosh, and Tim (Jacky) Johnson of Weyauwega; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren: Adam Chaplin, Samuel Johnson, and Melissa Johnson; brother, Norman Zenko; sister, Beatrice Anshutz; and stepson, Ron Caroon.

Robert “Bob” Mueller

age 76, of Wausaukee, died peacefully at home on Monday September 15, 2025. He was born in Milwaukee on June 22, 1949; son of the late Robert and Agnes (Graczyk) Mueller. He began his career as an Industrial Mechanic, where he prepared and adjusted machinery for large-scale production. He later advanced to ABB Robotics, working as a Senior Systems Technician for 21 years until his retirement. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, cutting firewood, and spending time snowmobiling and riding his UTV. He was also an avid fan of the Brewers and the Packers.

Bob is survived by his wife, Victoria; two sons: Trevis A. (Lisa) Mueller and Troy M. Mueller; grandchildren: Ryan, Shaun, Heather (Brian) and Stuart (Amanda); 6 great grandchildren; and sister, Kay Ellen (Bernie) Prepodnik. He is preceded in death by his son, Todd; brother, Carl; and sister, Carol.

Visitation will be on Monday September 22, 2025, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Amberg from 9am until the time of his Memorial Mass Service at 11am. Father David Schmidt is officiating. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Klondike.
