Steve Kevin Kent

age 60, passed away on Sunday 4/12/2026 at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn. He was born in Elkhart, Indiana, son of the late Lloyd Wayne Kent and Dorothy Leslie Barker. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his nephew, Eric. Steve was a very special person and defied the odds that were given to him as a baby. When the doctors told his parents that he would not have a long life, he proved them all wrong by celebrating his 60th birthday on March 13, 2026. Steve loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved his music, especially the songs of Charlie Pride, and George Jones, but thanks to the playlist his nephew Nick made him, he also grew to enjoy the songs of Jason Aldean. Steve loved trips to Bojangles to get a BoBerry biscuit and sweet tea. Taking rides in his brother’s truck made him happy, and spending time with his family was one of his favorite things.

He is survived by his brother, Lloyd Kent and wife Sherry of Sanford, North Carolina; sisters, Virginia Novak of Wausaukee, Wisconsin and Mary Darnell of Lancaster, South Carolina; nieces and nephews, Melissa, Nick, Troy, Nathan, Michelle, Adam, Steve, and several great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his many good friends that he made while living at the Murdock Center.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 6-8pm at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway. A graveside funeral service will be held later in May at the Amberg Cemetery in Amberg, Wisconsin.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care given to Steve at the Murdock Center and at Duke University Medical Center.

Nancy Lee Tomko

age 70, passed away on February 2, 2026. Born on October 6, 1955, to Patricia and Leroy Schell, Nancy was one of ten children. She is survived by her siblings: Sheila Pflanzer; Bill (Linda) Schell; Tom (Karen) Schell; Dan Schell; Tim Schell; Steve Schell; Mary Frederickson (Jody); and Jill Schell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Barb Schell; her brother-in-law, Bob Pflanzer; her husband, Dennis Tomko; her nephew, Ian; and her dear friend, Linda. Nancy loved animals, especially her cats, and found peace in the beauty of the Northwoods - watching birds and deer and spending time outdoors.

She had a love for music that filled her home, from Patsy Cline and Engelbert Humperdinck to Brooks & Dunn and Celine Dion. She enjoyed live music, craft shows, and decorating - especially around the holidays, when she delighted in finding special pieces that made her home feel warm and welcoming.

Nancy had a gift for creating spaces where people could gather. Whether at home or at “Crazy Guyz,” the backyard bar she helped build and run, she enjoyed hosting others and bringing people together in ways that felt fun, inviting, and full of life.

She will be remembered in the small, meaningful details - her beautiful, unmistakable cursive handwriting, her homemade deviled eggs, and the care packages she sent, including fudgy, chocolate cookies and handwritten notes that made their way to her daughter during college.

Nancy’s life was marked by both joy and hardship, and she will be remembered for the moments of light, connection, and care she brought to those around her.

A gathering to honor her life will be held at the Ashwaubenon Community Center Activity Room (900 Anderson Dr, Ashwaubenon, WI) on Saturday, May 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to come and share memories.

Patricia Ann Freele

passed away Easter morning, April 5, 2026. Pat was born on the family farm in Middle Inlet, Wisconsin, on July 14, 1935, to William and Mary (Gerbyshak) Dunlap.

As the middle child of seven, Pat had a happy, hardworking childhood filled with farm, garden and household chores. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking with her mother. She learned to sing and play the piano early on. Music was a source of joy throughout her life.

Pat graduated from Wausaukee High School in 1953, where she caught the eye of classmate Roger Freele. After graduation, she put her secretarial skills to work in the office of Bond Pickle Company in Oconto. Pat and Roger were married at St. Augustine Church in Wausaukee on June 11, 1955. They lived and worked on the Freele family dairy farm in the Town of Wausaukee, and raised their five daughters.

As a farm wife, Pat’s life was full of faith and purpose. She was the original multi-tasker, managing the farm business, raising children and chickens, planting and caring for a huge garden, and harvesting vegetables and fruits that fed the family all year long. Pat’s delicious and bountiful meals and desserts were nothing short of legendary. Salesmen of farm equipment and home products usually arrived at lunch time and could always count on Pat to set an extra place!

No matter how busy the farm season, Pat was there to support her daughters in their school activities, music programs and religious education. And no matter how late, she sat down with her journal every night to document the day’s weather and events.

After Roger’s death in 2003, Pat built a new home and moved to the Village of Wausaukee. She was proud to work at the Wausaukee election polls, loved spending time with church groups and friends, and especially enjoyed being part of music entertainment and singalongs at NEWCare in Crivitz.

In 2019, Pat moved to Green Bay to enjoy the close company of family and the warm community of her assisted living home. Spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her great joy.

Pat is survived by her daughters: Mary Ellen (Jerry) Edlebeck and children Jeff Edlebeck and Emily (Lee Bartels) Milquet; Jan (George) Wiesner and children Josh and Ben Wiesner; Kathy (Dale) Dallmann and son Jared (Emily) Parr; Julie (Ron) Backmann and children Megan (Nate Leigh) Backmann and Daniel (Delaney) Backmann; and Karen (Brian) Harter and children Courtney (Steve) Okan, Jessica (Alex) Holmes and Jared (Carrie) Harter. She is also survived by sisters Rose (George) Vedra and Dorothy (Tom) Wojcik, and brothers Richard (Judy) Dunlap and Mike Dunlap, brothers-in-law William Freele, Pete Kritch, and sisters-in-law Betty Dunlap and Susan (Bob) Landenberger. She is further survived by 13 great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Roger, her in-laws Charles and Marjorie Freele, brother William Dunlap, sister Mary Catherine (Don) Huempfner, sisters-in-law Judy Dunlap, Pat Kritch and Evelyn Freele.

A funeral mass and celebration of Pat’s life will be held Friday, May 8, 2026, at Pat’s lifelong parish, St. Augustine Church, 507 Church St., Wausaukee, Wisconsin. Visitation 9:30 - 11:00 a.m., with Mass at 11:00 a.m.
