This is WOC nurse week. What is a WOC nurse? It is a nurse with additional education in Wound care, Ostomy care and or Continence care. These nurses have gone above and beyond their traditional nursing education to specialize. They use evidence based practice to bring about change in their patients lives. They advocate for their patients through research or policy change. They go above and beyond to find answers and create change. Thank you to all of my fellow WOC nurses out there. Today is staff appreciation day at FCHC. I appreciate all of the wound and hyperbaric staff. They all work hard to get things done and keep things moving. I want to say thank you to Joni, Jane, Linda, Allison, Keith and Morgan for everything they do every day to make this an exceptional experience for our patients. I couldn’t work with a better team.
