Update on Medical Care in the region please see the Thedacare Post on walk in clinics and other services. Use caution shoveling tomorrow as the snow if heavy and wet.

⚠️UPDATED Monday, March 16 at 10 a.m.⚠️

This is an important update to the message we shared last night regarding our plans for Winter Storm Elsa.

• All ThedaCare and Northeast Medical Group Ambulatory Clinics will be closed today. This includes primary care, outpatient, urgent care and walk-in, and rehab therapies. Importantly, virtual visits are still available.
• Currently scheduled procedures and surgeries will continue, including those at OSP, Encircle and Regional Cancer Center.
• The Regional Cancer Center, all outreach cancer clinic locations and HFM Cancer Center will be closed. All procedural, chemotherapy and radiation oncology services will be moved throughout this week, with extended hours planned to accommodate required treatments. Specialty Infusion services will also close, and we are currently working with procedural and infectious disease providers to coordinate required treatment infusions.
• Labs and imaging will only be open and operational at our hospitals.
• Retail pharmacies at ThedaCare Medical Centers-Berlin and -Shawano are closed this morning. We will provide an update on pharmacies if needed.
• Med Speed will be canceling services this afternoon.
• We are working hard to move appropriate patient appointments to virtual or reschedule.

If you need care immediately, please consider visiting one of our emergency departments or using our virtual care options:

Weather Update ❄️

We have been closely monitoring Winter Storm Elsa and its impact on travel safety across northeast and central Wisconsin. The safety of our patients, visitors and team members is always our priority.

At this time, most locations plan to be open and operational tomorrow, Monday, March 16, with a few adjustments:

• All ThedaCare and Northeast Medical Group ambulatory clinics will have a delayed opening at 12:00 p.m. This includes primary care, outpatient clinics, urgent care and walk-in locations, and rehab therapies.
• ThedaCare Regional Cancer Center–Appleton will open at 9:30 a.m.
• HFM Radiation Oncology will open at 12:00 p.m. HFM chemotherapy and specialty infusion services will also begin patient care at 12:00 p.m.
• All ThedaCare At-Home locations will be closed Monday.

Our goal is to maintain surgical and procedural appointments, including Encircle labs, imaging and endoscopies, unless they have already been rescheduled based on physician availability.

We will continue to monitor weather conditions and will share updates here if plans change. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to keep everyone safe.

Please consider staying indoors and avoid travel Sunday and Monday if you possibly can. Crews are prepared and standing by however response can be hampered by road conditions and weather. Ensure you have medication supplies, oxygen and food for this event. Snow is expected to be wet and heavy, that mix can cause heart problems while shoveling. Be safe.

This week Chief Melvin and Deputy Chief Woodstock completed the Active Threat Integrated Response Course. It is a 16 hour performance level direct delivery course designed to improve integration between law enforcement, fire, tele-communicator and emergency medical services (EMS) in active attack / shooter events. Then we were joined by Emergency Manager Luchini along with 800 law enforcement, fire, EMS, dispatchers, mental health responders and school administration to hear best practices from first hand responders and families who have lived through these horrific events. We were moved to strengthen our local responses and continue to prepare.
