This weekend is homecoming for multiple schools in the area. Come out and support your local youth. Remember activities will be ongoing all weekend use extra caution and help everyone stay safe. WCEMS will be out in support of all our teams. Go Hornets, Penguins and Wildcats!

Our crews were on location at Christ Lutheran School in West Bloomfield today. Kids toured the ambulance and asked questions of the Paramedics. It’s a great way for kids to meet us and not be scared of the helpers in an emergency.

As a Chief I was honored to be on hand during the final scenarios for our newest Tactical Paramedics. The professionalism, growth and dedication by these four showed today. Special thanks to our County volunteers and the Waushara EMS TEMS team leader for giving up a Sunday to help bring realism to the scenarios. Congratulations!

I am proud of our Tactical Paramedics in Waushara County we have 4 of the 24 mixed participants in this class. As a County Ambulance we are committed to providing care for patients in all environments.

Today is day 2 of a Tactical EMS class being held in Wisconsin Rapids. 24 law enforcement, fire, and EMS providers from 15 different agencies around Wisconsin are taking part in the class. Learning to move tactically as a unit, and providing care with tourniquets, pressure bandages, chest seals, and wound packing gauze are just a few of the things learned and practiced. Utilizing these actions in stressful scenarios that simulate the provision of medical care under fire or the threat of other imminent dangers makes this training invaluable when they have to look out for one another in the real world. Unfortunate, but necessary.

Recently a resident of Waushara County had a missed call showing it came from the Waushara County Zoning Office. Upon attempting to call the number back they received what appeared to be a robocall talking about a refund or money. Please know that Waushara County will not ask for personal information over the phone to provide a refund.

This week our crews focused on a quarterly inservice with devices that were purchased with the EMS funding assistance grant. These purchases helped us fill gaps in patient care equipment that allowed us to focus on improving the service. All purchases came from needs found in actual call quality assurance reviews.
