This isn’t a highlight reel.

Some seasons are about staying connected to who you are, even when movement looks different than it used to.

If you’re walking when you wish you were running, you’re not behind.

You’re still in the conversation.

And sometimes, that’s the most important part.

Came to Florida for warmth.
Got Wisconsin with palm trees.
40 mph winds had other plans.

Still ran.

This is the part people don’t post - showing up when conditions aren’t ideal. That’s endurance. That’s training. That’s life.

I love working with people who move anyway.

Built for the long run, even on delayed days.

This is your permission slip to rotate your running shoes.

Running in the same pair every day loads the same tissues the same way. Over time, that adds up.

Rotation isn’t about buying more for fun (although… 👀). It’s about giving your body variability.

Save this.
Send it to your running partner.

The treadmill doesn’t cause bad habits — it reveals them.

Draw an imaginary line down the middle of the treadmill.

If your feet keep landing on that line, your body usually compensates by rolling out to the outside of the foot.

Over time, that can show up as:
• heel pain
• foot soreness
• knee pain
• IT band issues

Simple cue: straddle the line.
Let each foot land on its own side.

You’re not on a runway.
You’re running.

Cleaning up small habits like this before training or racing season can make a big difference.

Hope this helps. 👟❄️

If you’ve tried stretching or rest and your low back pain keeps coming back, this might explain why.

Try the glute test and see what your body is doing.

Most people think tight muscles mean they need to stretch more.
But a lot of the time, tightness is your body asking for better support - not more force.

When we improve how the body works together, flexibility often follows without pushing it.
That’s how we approach care at Front Runner.

If this sounds familiar, we should probably talk.

Do you have commitment issues?
Honestly… most of us do when it comes to our own bodies.

Let me give you an example from this morning.

I have a longtime runner who deals with low back pain that eventually stops her from running. She’s a business owner, she’s busy, and she’d come in when she could - maybe once every couple months. We’d help, but it never fully stuck.

This year, she decided to try something different.
She committed to six weeks of consistent care with shockwave.

Today was visit 5.

She walked in and said,
“Why didn’t we do this sooner?”
She worked out. No pain. She feels amazing.

Same body.
Different level of commitment.

We’re really good at showing up for everyone else.
At some point, we have to show up for the one body we’re going to live in our entire life.

If treadmill running feels brutal, this is usually why.

Loud, heavy steps = too much time on one leg.

A slightly faster turnover often feels smoother, lighter, and easier on the body.

Try this:
• Listen to your feet
• Aim for quieter steps
• Gradually nudge cadence closer to ~170

Small changes make a big difference.

This race has been part of my life for a long time.

I’ve run it more times than I can count — long before kids, long before business ownership, back when I was just a twenty-something showing up to run with friends.

Two years ago, we crossed this finish line knowing we were officially out of the first trimester and quietly announcing that we were becoming a family of four on the Fourth. That moment will always stick with me.

I’m still a Badgerland Strider — just in a different season.
Less involved these days, but deeply shaped by the years, the miles, and the community.

We’ve made this race a family tradition… even if this year was a little too hot to bring out a six-month-old 😉

Some traditions don’t disappear. They just evolve.

I don’t think everything needs to mean something.
Just saying it out loud tonight.
