One of the most popular and special life enrichment days in The Courtyards, our assisted living community, is the Santa Brunch! You can see the delight in the eyes of our residents who, along with their families, enjoyed visits from Mr & Mrs Claus, live music, and a delicious brunch. Merry Christmas!

Two things our residents cannot get enough of are animals and kids! Today's post features one of the two. Meet ONX (pronounced like the color "onyx") who is one of our pet therapy dogs that visits and spends time with our residents.

ONX (pictured here) and her owner, Kathy, love helping people and come to visit our residents once a month. No, ONX does not enjoy wearing these hats! 😄

If you're a resident Milwaukeean and you've been paying attention, there's been some recent press coverage surrounding a movie releasing this Christmas called "Song Sung Blue," starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson. It tells the story of local celebrities, Lighting and Thunder, a Neil Diamond and Patsy Cline tribute act.

Another famous Neil Diamond tribute artist, Eric Diamond Productions (Eric "Diamond" Ebert), brought his act and his songs (sung blue), to our Courtyards, assisted living residents last week! Live music and live performances are always big hits with residents across our care areas and Eric's visit was no exception!

Many Luther Manor supporters helped brighten the lives of older adults in need of care but unable to afford it with a gift to Love Lights 2025! Because of 175 individual donors and 7 corporate sponsors, Luther Manor Foundation raised over $22,000 to help grow the Resident Support Fund.

With each gift, we dedicated a "love light" or "strand of lights" in honor or memory of loved ones. The names of these special individuals are displayed on large boards in The Welcome Center and The Terrace Atrium and on the Luther Manor Foundation website. They were also included in the event programs.

Love Lights culminated in special celebrations across campus on December 4 and 5. In the Health Care Center, Courtyards (assisted living), and Gardens (memory care), residents enjoyed a short program led by pastoral care and the leadership team, live music, and a festive lunch. At The Terrace, nearly 100 residents, family members, and staff gathered for a program, special dinner, and sing-along led by Joyce and Tom Christie, residents.

Luther Manor Foundation is grateful to all who participated in the Love Lights fundraising campaign and events. Thank you!

Our assisted living residents in The Courtyards got to decorate some gingerbread houses alongside some volunteers and the end products look great, don't you think?!

No judging on these houses. Just fun! They are all available for viewing in the Life Enrichment spaces in the Courtyards.

If you've been following along with us these past few days, you know that carolers and choirs have visited every care area at Luther Manor, performing a collection of beloved Christmas songs to the delight of every resident.

Here's "Emmanuel" performed by the Milwaukee Lutheran Choir which will cap off our holiday music collection for this year. Listen to the harmonies from these super talented youngsters!

Thanks again to our many wonderful volunteers who have made this Christmas season extra special for our residents with both sight and sound!
