Here at Cocoon, we welcome and serve all people, from every walk of life.

In the sacred journey of birth, many families turn to spiritual or religious traditions for comfort and meaning. As midwives and caregivers, we are intimately connected to the profound cycles of life, death, and rebirth; the beautiful ending of one chapter and the hopeful beginning of another.
Out of respect for each person’s unique beliefs, we love honoring the universal truths found in nature itself.

In the darkest time of year, it’s no wonder our hearts lift as the days slowly lengthen, bringing the quiet promise of light and renewal.

And in that same spirit, may we all embrace the embodiment of generosity; giving freely, without expectation, just as nature gives to us.

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. Regardless of your beliefs or background, feeling and expressing gratitude is a sacred act. It opens the heart, humbles, and connects.
This week, as always, I acknowledge the fraught historical context of this contemporary American observance. People fleeing religious persecution in Europe only survived their first seasons in North America because of the generosity of the indigenous. Today, we hold space for all the lives, cultures, and traditions that were nearly erased.

I hope we will learn to tread gently on this storied land, love each other fully, and practice generosity and gratitude moving forward.
