I don’t know who needs to hear this, and in light of my own struggles with mental health. I just want to say, that despite what the voice in your head is saying to you…
YOU ARE ENOUGH.
YOU ARE WORTHY OF THE LOVE OF YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
YOU ARE SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE THAT LOVE YOU EVEN WHEN YOU FEEL ALONE.

If you know someone that struggles with mental health reach out and check on them.

If you are fighting that silent battle that isn’t so silent in your head, reach out and ask for help. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Hey everyone! So we have missed the market the past two weeks, which were planned. Unfortunately, we will also be missing this week (8/31).

Yesterday though, I worked hard and have 29 trays of microgreens planted that will be ready to go for the farmers market on 9/7!

Broccoli microgreens are the young seedlings of a broccoli plant, belonging to the Brassica family, and have 40x the nutrients of adult broccoli!

They are packed with Vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, which are essential for a strong immune system, healthy vision, and cell growth.

The most beneficial compound found in broccoli microgreens is sulforaphane, which contains powerful antioxidants that fight cancer. Micro broccoli contains 10x the sulforaphane as adult broccoli.

Broccoli microgreens have a mild tangy taste. They go great in salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, or whatever your favorite meal is.

Each serving of micro broccoli (100g) contains 31 calories, 2.3g of protein, and 7g of carbs.

I decided I wanted to start doing hydroponic gardening and built a wall garden yesterday. There are a couple of things I need to touch up on, like getting a smaller pump, but it seems to function well. I have some lettuce, pepper plants, and some herbs I want to try in it. Does anyone do any hydroponic gardening?

Good morning!

I've recently started growing sunflower microgreens and have been using them in some of the mixes I offer

Sunflower microgreens, like other micro varieties, are packed with nutrients. They are high in vitamins A, V, E, K, B6, and folate. They are also a complete protein source, meaning they contain all nine of the essential amino acids our bodies don't produce. just one serving(64g) contains 2g of protein.

Sunflower microgreens go great in salads, smoothies, or on a sandwich.

Our microgreens are available every Saturday at the Waxahachie Farmer's Market. I can also take pre-orders for delivery or pickup at the market!

We see a lot of confusion at the market between sprouts and microgreens, so I want to clear things up! Both are fantastic ways to add a nutritional punch to your meals, but they have some key differences:

** Sprouts**

Early Stage: Sprouts are the very beginning of plant life! They're the seed that has germinated and developed a root and a single set of leaves (cotyledons).
Fast & Easy: Sprouts are ready to eat in just a few days, typically 3-5! They're grown in water or a moist container and don't require soil.
Milder Flavor: Sprouts have a more subtle, sometimes grassy flavor.
Examples: Mung bean, alfalfa, broccoli sprouts.

** Microgreens:**

Young Shoots: Microgreens are a bit older than sprouts. They've developed their first set of true leaves (after the cotyledons) and have started to photosynthesize.
Takes a Bit Longer: Microgreens take 7-14 days to mature and are grown in a shallow tray with soil or a soilless mix.
Bold & Flavorful: Microgreens pack a powerful flavor punch, often mirroring the taste of their mature counterparts (think peppery arugula microgreens!).
Examples: Sunflower, pea shoots, beet greens, spicy radish.

No matter which you choose, you're getting a burst of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants!
