Not NEW information - In functional medicine we have known for years that a mother can
transmit Lyme disease to a child in utero. It’s frustrating it takes western medicine so long to catch up!

20 years this month was born!

While many of my classmates were taking time off to travel or beginning a career as an associate Doctor,
I graduated on a Saturday, moved from Houston to Austin on Sunday, and by Monday, I had purchased an AK / functional nutrition practice.

Did I know how to run a business? Nope! Oblivia was bliss!

Day 1 - I had employees, a lease, subleases, a full book of patients and responsibilities I was NOT prepared for.

But I knew one thing, I wanted to do medicine my way! Long appointments, deep histories, and actual relationships with our patients. I knew i did not want to be restricted by insurance companies or anyone else on how to treat patients right or well.

Over the years, I’ve built multiple teams in big offices with multiple doctors. I’ve also been a one woman show working on just a laptop and table. Recently, after 19 years in Austin, I took another leap with telehealth and moving to the Dallas area.

The Waxahachie / Ellis County community here needed this type of care!! The way we’ve been welcomed has meant so much.💕

Right now, we’ve built something that’s really special. A whole body team approach with Lacy guiding mind, body and spirit work, Karly supporting nutrition, and Brooke leading our patients with mindset coaching (and keeping us all in line😜)

Like the starfish story…we may not reach everyone or everything, but we can help change everything for the brave patients we have the honor to help.

Some days it feels like the world is so toxic and inflamed, that we’ll never get ahead…but most days it feels like we’re just getting started🔥
