Built around 1904, the Luther Ernest Brown House has quietly stood on East South Main Street for more than a century — balanced, practical, and just a little proud.

Originally home to merchant Luther Ernest Brown, the house reflects the transitional architectural style popular in Waxhaw at the turn of the 20th century.

Its moderately high hip roof, full-width low-hip porch, and elegant tapered wood piers set on brick plinths give it a timeless strength. Subtle details — like the gentle curve along the porch entry frieze and classic one-over-one sash windows — reveal a level of craftsmanship that still feels intentional and refined today.

Over the years, the home welcomed merchants, bankers, and families as Waxhaw grew around it. Though updated, its proportions, porch rhythm, and historic bones remain beautifully intact — even Luther Brown’s name is still inscribed in the original cement walkway.

Now, this historic house begins a new chapter as our medspa — a place where care, beauty, and confidence are nurtured inside walls that have been part of this community for over 100 years.
