I know it’s scary to even talk with an organizer. There are so many questions!!

How much is the big question.
How long does it take?
Do I need to work with you?
How many people will be in my home?

What I hear?

I’m not comfortable having strangers in my home touching things and judging me.

I’m super busy and making time to be with you means I have to make schedule changes an might face judgement in real time.

How much is the cost of staying in the same place vs making some changes in my life.

Change is hard. Decluttering can be work and the result is freedom and happiness. It does have a cost and every project is different.
We have helped smaller projects from $300 to monster projects with multiple layers to $10,000.

Every project is unique and requires different sets of preparation and planning. Each is strategic for that project.

Some need additional help from a mover, trash pick up or handyman. Some need a box of black trash bags.

Some are best with one of us alongside the homeowner, some are best with a crew onsite and tackle lots of spaces at once.

Don’t worry, we have been doing this for almost 2 decades. We have seen A. LOT. Judgement is left at the door and our goal is the see your eyes light up when the space has lightness, feels good and you have had the tour for where it all is, and the plan to keep it that way.

Leave regret behind. You deserve more. The freedom. The happiness. The lightness. The smile.

What other questions do you have?

This week we helped a woman prepare her office and a closet of her home for sale.

The office generated 6 bags of trash.
5 boxes of donations, 4 bags of donations and a bag of shred.

What she found?

Space. Air to breathe and a plan for the space.

The closet generated a shelf for her daughter to claim, four more trash bags and another bag of donations.

Now she can walk into the space easily and place her hands on whatever she needs.

Next we get to dig into the main closet.

When the things like old stained pillows that have lived on a shelf high up are removed, then it also removes dust and makes space for life to fill it.

There are now spaces for staging and less to manage. She stated how freeing this felt.

Mission Accomplished!

Have you heard I’m delivering. TEDx talk in March?
I’ll be discussing clutter and in a very different way.
I talk about a cookie jar in my talk.
This is not the one but it’s a similar vintage and style.

How do you measure a good day on the job?

This week it was floors climbed.

In 6 hours, 38 floors were climbed with my phone in my pocket.

Whew.

Yes, that was followed by a very happy client and an uncluttered space.

Also with strong legs.

Who needs gym?

How do you measure your success each day? Does it change for you?

I’m truly curious. 🧐

It’s all gone to the dogs!!

We love a good organization project.
We also love a sweet doggo!

This week after 3 days on the job, this guy was captured no less than a million times. (Okay, that may be a slight exaggeration)

We touched two bedrooms, a laundry room, pantry, coat closet, garage, kitchen (partial), half bath, master bath, master closet, playroom, playroom closet, guest room and closet, Jack and jill bathroom.

This project also generated a trailer of trash and one of donations.

Why were we there?
To prep for sale.

It was a joint project with Steppe by Steppe Solutions. Because some projects are just best shared.

Thanks Anne and your team, it was fun to combine forces.

Best wishes for this client as they move to a bigger space.

And this pup, he’s getting more room to roll, lounge and be himself. Because we ALL deserve to live our best lives.

What’s hiding in your medicine chest??

This one had a full box of expired meds. Some were prescribed most were over the counter.

Removing these gave room for the current use items.

Removing these old meds prevents using medicine that doesn’t help, gives different side effects or makes one sicker!!

Removing these responsibly is key.

Most pharmacies now have something that looks like a mailbox for you to place these.

Some Police and Fire Departments collect for destruction too.

They are then incinerated.

Please don’t flush these old meds. They are not always well filtered for the water supply causing other challenges.

What’s the oldest medicine in your cabinet?
This one had some that were 10 years old!!!

Do you know Ocean Reef Club?

It’s a great place. We were members years ago and really enjoyed it.

Rolling up to a client that had these doormats brought back so many treasured memories.

When you’re looking at the things you use, have something that you love. If you can.

Coupling something you need to have with something you realllllyyyy like or something you love, it makes every moment matter that much more.

This was at someone else’s home and I made me grin, reminisce and call some people I adore to talk about it.

That was gold.

Here’s an 80s throwback!

This stack of 45s (as they were called) was filled with popular artist artists from the 1980s.

It was fun to sift through the pile and look for record jackets without records in them
Humming along to some of the favorite tunes by the different artists

We may have sung a few lines….
Looked for the tune as we were singing
We might’ve even tried to walk like an Egyptian
IYKYK
What kind of musical treasures are hiding in your closets?
I’m currently on a hunt looking for clients with eight tracks

What’s so fun about an eight track you might ask? The song would literally stop mid song and then continue on the next track.
It was fun to listen to

What was your favorite song from the 80s?

Just a few hours, a bunch of questions and more decisions.
A few labels
Six boxes
Two vacuums
4 trash bags later…..

We have a happy client 😊

Almost 10 years ago we set this space up as homeowners moved in.

We retuned to help sift through a decade of life and prepare for the next phase.

Making a big life change? Let’s talk!

Need a vacuum? Lmk-I’ll tell you where it was donated 😆

We found some really fun things last week.

This hockey puck is from the team that now is the Carolina Hurricanes.

Little history:
They started in the Boston area but the Bruins were a little sensitive to sharing the fan market so they moved to Hartford.
They were not originally an NHL team-that came after a few years.
They had a theme song!!
I remember they asked to community to be a part of choosing it.
They settled on “Brass Bonanza” and it is still used by many CT based teams for celebration of scoring.
Even the Hurricanes have used it for fun “throw back” games.

Some of the most fun things are buried in boxes and we love learning and looking up bits about what we find.

Some jobs you just need the big guys.
A big thank you to Barry over at and his team!

This job was an attic and garage prep for sale.

Homeowner has moved out and this home is getting ready to be on the market. It’s being partially lived in by a family member while in transition.

After the family created a family and a colorful life here, there was a lot to sort, some reminiscing and categorizing.

We filled one full truck of trash

We filled one full truck to donate

It was a cold day… So we may have had a number of layers on. And those layers didn’t stop us!

Client was quick to execute decision decisions making this job a snap

Will be back to coordinate the final packing after the sale of the house.

How many truck trucks could you fill?

We LOVE. A QT stop. They have a tea bar (and sometimes we visit the other side for a cola)
The team AND our clients all enjoy a fun break during a session when there is a QT on the way.

The challenge is labeling our look alike cups.
So we improvise. Typically it’s the straw wrapper. How many times have you used a straw wrapper after the straw has been taken out of it???

We do this really well on projects in other ways too.

From using containers present (know those Apple phone boxes from early 2000s? They are great for drawer containment) to arranging for best use of space, containers and use of items.

We have been know to be super creative on occasion.
