Janet Randall Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Janet Randall Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner I provide both psychotherapy and medication management Sometimes the circumstances in life are too much to handle without some help. My approach is eclectic.

The life events might be overwhelming or mental health might be compromised due to physiology. Working in psychiatry for over thirty years has given me a respect for many different modalities. There is not a one size fits all approach to healing. Together, we will look at the issues and find your path. We will explore the options and work together to find the appropriate treatment. If needed, a referral to a practitioner who can help will be recommended. I have experience with all age groups, couples and families.

According to Axios, the Trump administration is preparing a new plan for Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies, and it could dramatically reshape who actually gets affordable coverage.

Here’s what it would do:

• Extend ACA subsidies only for two years, creating another premium cliff right before the next election.
• Add new income limits, meaning some families who qualify today would lose help.
• Eliminate $0 premium plans, which currently protect the lowest-income Americans from going uninsured.
• Push people into cheaper, high-deductible plans, shifting more financial risk onto patients.
• Potentially add abortion-related restrictions, reigniting a fight over the Hyde Amendment.
• Expand Health Savings Accounts, a benefit that helps higher-income households far more than struggling families.

The bottom line? This isn’t a plan to strengthen the ACA, it’s a way to quietly weaken it while claiming to extend “affordability.” It raises costs for the people who need help the most, introduces new instability, and uses healthcare access as a bargaining chip.

Millions of Americans rely on predictable, stable coverage. Healthcare shouldn’t be redesigned through political brinkmanship.

The U.S. Department of Education quietly changed how it classifies “professional degrees.”

That means nursing and several other essential fields no longer meet the definition.

This isn’t just disrespectful. It makes it harder for students to qualify for certain federal loans and programs.

Fewer students entering nursing, teaching, counseling, social work, and other frontline careers means an even more strained workforce.

Using an AI-generated video of himself, Donald Trump sought “to mock and smear millions of Americans, literally depicting them covered in excrement, precisely so that none of his own supporters would want to join them,” Anne Applebaum argues: https://theatln.tc/rEBRn3lJ
