This week we are highlighting our Mind-Body Classes here at PWC! We have a handful of wonderful Yoga and Pilates classes that are taught by our Certified Instructors!
{ GENTLE YOGA } is great for anyone at any level, especially if you are newer to yoga or those that enjoy slowing down, breathing and are interested in more of a gentle practice. This is a Vinyasa style class, focusing on incorporating the breath into every movement, flowing between a sequence of poses, focusing on alignment, strength, balance, flexibility and relaxation of the mind. We end each class in a final relaxation pose for Savasana.
{ YOGA SWEAT } is a HEATED class :) Heat is purifying, cleansing and healing. Adding warmth prepares muscles and connective tissue for deeper stretches and facilitates perspiration, which serves to cleanse the body as well as clear the mind. This class is also a Vinyasa style class, meaning we incorporate breath into every movement as we focus on alignment, but the temperature is warmer and the flow focuses a little more on strength, incorporating strong standing postures, deep stretches, more balance work and occasional options to try inversions if they food good! Although this class is a little more advanced than Gentle Yoga, and the room is warmer, it is still an great class for beginners that want a little bit more out of their workout. { PILATES YOGA FLOW } is a class Heidi has been teaching here for almost 18 years! Kimberly and Heidi now alternate weeks and we fuse Pilates with some Yoga stretches and poses to created the best workout for your Friday morning! We use bands, toning balls, pilates circles and a variety of other equipment to strengthen and lengthen muscles, increase flexibility, strengthen the core and better balance the body. This is a 'feel good' class that everyone loves!
