Traveling for the Easter holiday? Long car rides can take a toll on your vein health.
Sitting for extended periods slows circulation and may lead to swelling, heaviness, or leg discomfort — especially if you have varicose veins.

Tips for travel:

• Take stretch breaks every 1–2 hours
• Wear compression socks for added support

EVRF treatment is based on thermocoagulation — a safe and effective method that uses radiofrequency energy to gently heat the vein wall. This causes the vein to seal, shrink, and gradually disappear.

During the procedure, your physician inserts a very thin catheter into the affected vein. A controlled, high-frequency energy is delivered through the device, closing the vein from the inside. The treatment typically takes about 20 minutes and can be performed year-round.

Afterward, a simple bandage is applied. Most patients experience little to no pain, minimal bruising, and no noticeable scarring. Even better — normal activities can usually be resumed the very next day.

Did you know that more than half of adults over age 50 develop spider veins?
While often seen as just a cosmetic concern, spider veins can sometimes cause aching or discomfort — especially after long days on your feet.

When it comes to vein health, movement is medicine.

Even simple daily activity—like walking, stretching, or standing up regularly—helps keep blood flowing efficiently back to the heart. When we stay still for long periods, blood can pool in the legs, increasing pressure on the veins and worsening symptoms like swelling, aching, or heaviness.

Ignoring vein symptoms won’t make them go away — and they often get worse over time.

Leg pain, swelling, heaviness, cramping, or visible veins can be signs of an underlying vein condition. When left untreated, these symptoms may progress and impact your daily comfort and mobility.

At ACP Vein Center, we encourage early evaluation and treatment to prevent complications and help you feel your best.

Did you know family history plays a big role in vein health?

If varicose or spider veins run in your family, you may be more likely to develop vein disease. Genetics can affect how well your veins and valves function, impacting circulation over time.

While you can’t change your genes, early diagnosis and healthy habits can make a big difference.

Long flights, road trips, and extended sitting can take a toll on your legs — especially if you already experience varicose veins, swelling, or heaviness.

When you sit for long periods, blood flow slows down, which can increase discomfort and raise the risk of circulation issues.

Here are a few simple tips to protect your veins while traveling:

✔ Stand up and walk every 1–2 hours
✔ Flex and point your feet while seated
✔ Stay hydrated (limit alcohol and excess caffeine)
✔ Avoid crossing your legs for long periods
✔ Consider wearing compression stockings if recommended

Welcome to ACP Vein Center

At ACP Vein Treatment Center in Wayne, we treat venous diseases in men and women with painless, minimally invasive vascular surgeries.

The most common of these include treatments for varicose veins and spider veins. Although many people think of these as cosmetic conditions, they are progressive diseases that can develop into serious medical issues, including discoloration and ulceration.

We have provided quality care of the venous system in Passaic County for more than 20 years through our sister practice, Advanced Cardiology Practice. Our new ACP Vein Center in Wayne is dedicated entirely to the diagnosis and treatment of vein disorders.
