FINAL VERSION (Strong, Respectful, and Educational)
To my barbers and stylists in Waynesboro, Stuarts Draft, Fishersville, Charlottesville, and Harrisonburg… this comes from love and experience, not disrespect.
Being an entrepreneur isn’t easy. We live this life hour by hour, day by day. We create, we learn, we struggle, and we keep showing up. That’s what makes us strong.
What I’ve learned over 20+ years behind the chair is this:
Growth comes when you stay open.
Growth comes when you’re willing to learn more.
Growth comes when you stop limiting yourself to one style or one technique.
If we cut the same way we did years ago… we stay stuck.
If we only know how to fade one texture or one type of hair… we stay stuck.
If we refuse to pick up new tools — shears, blow dryers, new clipper techniques, or advanced training — we stay stuck.
And when we stay stuck, we turn clients away without even realizing it.
I’ve had so many people sit in my chair and tell me,
“Other shops wouldn’t do this,”
or
“They didn’t know how,”
or
“They didn’t want to try.”
Simple things.
Things that could’ve changed their whole experience.
This message isn’t about calling anyone out — it’s about calling everyone UP.
We all have room to grow.
We all have room to learn.
We all have the chance to elevate our craft and create opportunities for ourselves.
Put the ego aside. Pick up the tools you haven’t mastered yet.
Learn new textures, new techniques, new services.
Respect the craft enough to evolve with it.
When you grow, the community grows.
When you grow, your business grows.
When you grow, clients feel it — and they stay loyal.
Let’s stop pushing potential clients away.
Let’s elevate together.
Much love and respect. 🙏✂️💈
