Remembering Pati Dotson

Many of you will remember Pati from her years of service with us in Lawrence County. Before our current structure, Patty served as a case manager during the time Matthew was Program Director, a role she held for roughly 10 or so years.

She worked through the era when everything was done on paper and was instrumental in helping the organization transition to digital systems. Even then, Patty was known for keeping careful paper backups — not out of resistance, but out of responsibility. She believed in being prepared and making sure nothing important was ever lost.

Patty had a deep understanding of the people we supported and a steady, dependable way of working. She brought consistency, institutional knowledge, and quiet competence during periods of change that shaped who we are today.

Her work mattered, and her presence left a mark on this organization. She will be remembered with respect and gratitude.

The ice has made things tough across our area, but we are incredibly proud of our team. Staff are stepping up, working overtime, covering shifts, and doing whatever it takes to make sure the people we support are safe and cared for.

Our administrators are out on the roads, transporting staff, delivering supplies, and problem-solving in real time. One home is still without power, but support is in place and we are staying close to the situation.

This is what commitment looks like. This is what teamwork looks like.
Thank you to everyone showing up with grit, compassion, and heart during a hard stretch. Please stay safe—we see you, and we are grateful. 💙
