I posting this with my Leslie account and Facebook keeps deleting it. This story needs to be told. Are they censoring every one who speaks out about what is going on?

I have been in chronic illness support groups for over ten years. I have always felt the best way to learn about the illness was from people living it, rather than doctors. Patients truly are the experts in their conditions. It was in these groups that I learned to advocate and learned medical laws. I am alive because of a lot of these people, and what I am seeing in the groups right now is breaking my heart.

In my autism groups, I saw at least ten families lose their disability this month. In another group, a child was unable to get their TPN medicine… that's for children that are tube-fed. And We lost the program that helped pay my caregiver and friend……

No Matter what side you are on, the state of medical care and coverage matters. It will not take long before every American or someone they love will be affected by the cuts being made.
what is happening in our country is dangerous, especially with cuts to Medicaid.

People are going to die, Children will die, and as a country, we shouldn't be ok with that. Cutting disability for children with Autism is crazy because they have so many support needs when they are younger. Cutting Disability for anyone disabled is crazy because it is barely enough to live on and how can a disabled person live if they lose funding and are unable to work?

I am thankful that most Americans don't know what it is like to wake up and be disabled overnight….. But I do. I have had to rebuild myself and our family one medical tragedy after another since 2008. 3 out of the 4 people in my house have had brain surgery. I have preached the fact that it should not be this hard to be sick for two years. Losing this funding will not only affect children but the care your elderly family receives in nursing homes. When did our nation stop caring about each other and those who are disabled? And Why are we doing this?? For tax cuts?? Is an extra $100 in taxes worth the kids not getting life-saving medical treatment?
Wake up America. Kids are ALREADY losing benefits… they are ALREADY losing nutrition, it is not ok.

If I had functioning feet, I would be in the streets protesting right now but I don't…. I don't know how to make it better, but it hurts my heart to think I am about to become bedbound at such an uncertain time. These changes are affecting people… sick people…we deserve better than this. To my chronic illness peeps, some of the strongest people I know, I am praying for all of us...
