This is so late in posting, but I didn’t want to forget to post it. Thank you so very much to everyone that came out and participated in our Jan 3rd barrel & pole jackpot. We love having these throughout the year but try not to run them into the ground. There are a lot of people to thank here but first and foremost, I wanted to thank the man that makes it possible and safe for us to come out and run without fear of injury or unsafe conditions. Josh Holder has been our go to arena guy for the last 3 or 4 years. He understood the mission and has made it his life’s work to make sure that we have the safest ground to ride our horses on. That arena on Saturday could not have been any better. The moisture was perfect and just knowing that there were no slips, trips or falls solidifies that fact. Josh shows up on Friday to start that process and is back out there before the sun comes up to complete the mission. We are so very blessed to have him, and I am grateful to be his friend. Thank you, Josh, it was absolutely perfect. There are so many others to thank, and I will forget many so don’t take it personally, but I do remember a few. Amber/Robin/Candy and Lisa… Thanks to you ladies for making sure that things ran smoothly and keeping things going. We couldn’t do this without you up top in the announcer’s booth, taking all the entries, announcing all the riders and figuring out the rest. To my barrel setters, Kylee, who came straight from work the night before, Misty, Lisa, I saw Robin in there and Jennifer a time or two, thanks to ya’ll for being out there and just keeping things set and running. To my helpers dragging, again, Josh Holder, thanks for starting and finishing for me. You were out there all day long with me and it was an extremely long day… Lynda Knight, you showed up to ride and got drug into dragging and girl, you are an amazing arena dragger. I never saw it look so good and am truly grateful for your help Saturday. And to my 2nd hero, behind Josh that day… Candy Holt. I remember when we started having these, you asked me, do we need to open the concession stand. I was told by so many people that “those barrel racers don’t eat, they just come, park wherever & however they want to, ride and leave, but I can tell you that that isn’t the case at our races. I saw you had to send Jacie back to the grocery store just to feed those hungry barrel racers & parents. You were there with the help of Jacie, thanks Jacie, all day long and you were never not busy. I never saw you when there weren’t people lined up over there. We appreciate everyone that uses the concession stand, they do a fabulous job and it’s so much cheaper than anywhere else you may go. Weatherford Comancheros Riding Club is so blessed to have such a committed bunch of people that step up when the need arises. We couldn’t do what we do without the commitment of so many. Thank you to everyone who came and please like our page, it would also be great if you could give us a thumbs up or comment on the great ground. We will see you next time, have a great day….
