Injuries rarely stay the same after they happen, and the hours right after impact can be just as telling.

Increased swelling, bruising that spreads beyond where you'd expect, reduced range of motion, or pain that isn't responding to rest are all signs that something more serious may be going on beneath the surface. When symptoms are moving in the wrong direction, it’s worth getting looked at before it turns into a longer recovery than necessary.
