We just had a fantastic planning meeting for the Weatherford Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and we are so excited to get started organizing this year’s walk on October 17, 2026 💜

There are so many ways to get involved in this incredible cause:

💜 Volunteer – We are currently looking for committee members to help plan and organize the event.
💜 Start a Team – Gather your friends, family, or coworkers and walk with us.
💜 Sponsor the Event – Businesses and organizations have a great opportunity to support the cause and the community.

1 in 4 Adults aged 65+ falls every year.
Repeat Risk: Once you fall, you are twice as likely to fall again.
🚿 TOP DANGER ZONES
Transferring: Stepping in and out of the tub or shower.
Toilet Use: Sitting down or standing up without proper support.
Slippery Surfaces: Wet tile, loose rugs, and damp floors.
🛠️ 5 SIMPLE SAFETY FIXES
Install Grab Bars: Place them by the toilet and inside/outside the shower. Do not use towel racks for support!.
Add Non-Slip Mats: Use rubber mats inside the tub and non-skid rugs on the floor.
Raise the Seat: Use a raised toilet seat with armrests to make sitting and standing easier.
Brighten the Room: Install automatic night lights to prevent trips during midnight visits.
Sit While Bathing: Use a sturdy shower chair and a handheld showerhead.
