We all have those postures that feel extra challenging, no matter how many times we’ve practiced them.

Maybe it’s holding strong in Awkward Pose while your thighs start to burn, balancing in Standing Bow as the body wobbles, or settling into Rabbit when the stretch asks you to stay longer than feels comfortable.

When discomfort shows up, notice the urge to tense or rush out. Then gently soften the face, steady the breath, and give yourself one more slow inhale and one more patient exhale.

Sometimes the real practice isn’t the pose at all. It is learning how to stay kind to yourself inside the challenge.

Breathing through those moments reminds the nervous system that you are safe, even in intensity. With each calm breath, space opens. Strength builds. Clarity follows.

Stay present. Stay patient. Trust that every breath is quietly carrying you through.

February can feel quieter. Slower. A little heavier.
That’s part of the season.

This is a good time to practice gentle focus — showing up consistently, even when motivation runs low. Some days the work looks like strong effort. Other days it looks like breathing, moving deliberately, and staying present with what’s there.

Each class you take, each moment you remain on your mat, reinforces something important: consistency can feel calm, steady, and supportive.

Keep showing up.
Slow seasons still carry you forward.

Awkward Pose is a full-body teacher. As the legs work deeply to build strength, the core fires up to support balance and alignment, while the mind stays calm, breath by breath.

Here are 3 tips to steady your Awkward Pose:
🪑 Sit back like you’re reaching for a chair
👣 Press evenly through all four corners of the feet
🧘 Draw the belly in and keep the chest lifted

Stability comes from both strength and presence. Stay steady here, and you’re building focus, resilience, and confidence that carries far beyond the mat. 🧡

At BYS, stillness isn’t passive—it’s powerful. Holding a posture, staying with the breath, and resisting the urge to move builds more than physical strength. It trains the mind to stay steady under pressure and the body to find resilience in discomfort.

Stillness teaches focus. It builds patience. It reminds us that strength isn’t always about doing more—it’s about staying present when things feel challenging. Each moment you hold, breathe, and stay is a moment you’re building both mental and physical resilience.

Trust the pause. There’s strength there. 💪

Small wins matter. Especially the ones no one else sees.

Maybe today you stayed in the room a little longer, held a posture with more awareness, or simply made it to class when motivation was low.

That’s progress. Celebrate it! 👏

Squats are a powerful exercise for building strength and balance, but they should always feel accessible and supported.

If you’re newer to this exercise or are experiencing some knee issues, try these ideas:
↔️ widen your stance
👣 keep your heels firmly grounded
↕️ reduce how low you bend

❣️ Bonus: Using the wall or blocks for support can also help you stay steady and comfortable.

Remember: progress comes from consistency, not forcing depth. Squats are meant to strengthen you over time, not strain you. So, listen to your body, modify as needed, and trust that your practice is exactly where it needs to be 🤍

Why January is the best time to recommit to Hot Yoga and Hot HIIT?? 🔥

After the busyness of the holidays, January offers a natural pause. A chance to reset, refocus, and begin again with intention. Plus, practicing in the heat helps warm the body during the coldest months, supports circulation and mobility, and encourages a grounded, steady mindset as you ease into the year.

Rather than pushing or forcing change, hot yoga invites you to move with awareness, build consistency, and reconnect with yourself one class at a time.

As we step into a new year, we invite you to pause and choose a word to carry with you.

“This year, I’m choosing _____.”

Maybe it’s strength. Maybe it’s patience. Maybe it’s joy, consistency, or compassion. Whatever your word is, let it meet you in your practice and support you all year long.

Share your word below if you’d like — we’d love to hold that intention with you as a community 💫

If you’re returning to yoga after some time away, it’s important to remember that the practice isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up.

Celebrate the effort it takes to walk through the door, to stay in the room, and to move and breathe in a way that feels right for you. Every class is a win, especially when you’re starting again.

Beginners and returning students are always welcome here. Your practice meets you where you are — and we’re proud of you for showing up. 🙏

Sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference in your yoga practice. Starting the year with the right essentials — like a reliable mat and proper electrolytes — helps you feel more supported, stable, and energized in every class.

Hydration is especially important in a heated room, and a quality mat can boost both comfort and confidence as you move through postures. When your body is supported, consistency and progress come more naturally.

New year, new essentials — and a stronger practice to match. ✨

As we start the year, it’s easy to set big goals — but the most sustainable progress often comes from small, simple intentions.

Yoga doesn't ask you to do more; it asks you to show up for yourself. Whether your goal is a few classes a week, better focus in the room, or simply creating time fa new healthy habit, those small commitments add up in a big way.

Set goals you can keep. Let consistency guide you. Your practice will meet you exactly where you are. 💛
