The district hospital located in Weaverville, CA has 25 acute care beds, 13 skilled nursing beds, a 24 hour emergency room and operating room.

We also have two Family Practice/Urgent Care Clinics, one in Weaverville, CA and one in Hayfork, CA.

MCHD has a Certified Nursing Assistant course we teach once a year, depending on the need. The last couple of weeks we have been busy training a few of our nursing assistants to get their certifications! They have been busy learning how to provide the best care for our patients and residents, in many ways, including how to safely transfer those who need assistance with getting around.

Our team at Mountain Communities Healthcare District deeply values our partnership with REACH Air Medical Services and the vital support they provide to our patients. We are heartbroken by the recent accident involving the Redding crew. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families, and we wish the crew a full and speedy recovery.

As we continue loving the fall weather please remember flu/ cold/ COVID/ RSV season is upon us!

Getting the flu vaccine and any other vaccine you are eligible for is a great way to protect yourself and others from transmission of these diseases. Remember to wash your hands, stay home when you are sick, practice cough/sneeze etiquette, and sanitize frequently touched areas!

Vaccinations and hygiene etiquette is the best way to prevent infection during this time of the year! 🦠

Hayfork Community Health Clinic patients can now enjoy a wonderful new parking lot easily accessible to all!

Staff was able to tour the Disaster Trailer to learn which disasters the trailer holds supplies for!

They looked through our HICS Cart, got to know our “Decon Dummy,” and walked through Disaster Box stations to learn about each element of disaster planning and management. They also got to observe the decontamination tent blown up and on display in it’s full glory!

The learning outcomes include: Disaster Management roles, HIC support roles, and how each staff member can be helpful in a disaster situation.

Mountain Communities Healthcare District has partnered with Partnership Health Plan and Alinea Medical Imaging to bring mammogram screening to our community. This partnership is aimed to provide access to mammograms to our underserved population who often face barriers such as transportation, lack of awareness or financial constraints. The self-contained bus travels to our location and provides digital mammography screening services. The bus is staffed with technicians who perform the imaging on board. We currently have 42 patients scheduled and over 20 patients on the waiting list. We are grateful to be able to provide early breast cancer detection services in
our community.
