Most people are only treating one piece of the pain puzzle…

And that’s why it keeps coming back.

Pain isn’t just physical.

It’s mental.
It’s emotional.
It’s stored in the way your body holds tension… the way you breathe… the way you respond to stress.

If you’ve been stretching, strengthening, or even resting—and your knee pain still isn’t going away—this is the missing link.

In this video, I break down how the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of pain are all connected—and how you can begin to unwind it naturally.

👉 Watch here: https://youtu.be/XNX8DZNDvjA

Once you start addressing all three… everything changes.

Here's a trap many online clients I work with fall into when it comes to pain, tension or discomfort in the body. The moment pain begins to fade they either stop doing "pain-pattern interrupts" or don't feel they need to continue to get help and support...
THIS IS A MAJOR TRAP!
WHY?
Because when the part of the body screaming the loudest begin to calm down...You're now going to be able to "feel" the underlying tension pattern that caused the initial body part to grab your attention.
Most people aren't trained to look at the pain in their body this way and as a result they end up on a rollercoaster of being in pain or "less pain" without any real deeper understanding of what's going on in their body.
The following video is from a recent "Knee Club" training where I worked with a client in this exact same place.
Through some simple Q&A were were able to connect what was going on with her Baker's Cyst with the pain in your calf, her ankle and her hip...
It's a fascinating exploration of "connecting the dots" on many levels to help the body to heal.
Enjoy and if you have any questions or comments feel free to post them below.

Are Slope Boards Good for Knee Rehab?

This question came in this morning about "Slope Boards" to help knee pain...

So I did a google search on Slope Boards to get an idea of what was being talked about...(Pic below)

Anyhow the following was the email I sent out...

====================

Hi there,

Thanks for your question about using slope boards for knee rehab.

The short answer is: it depends.

Without knowing more about your specific knee situation—where the pain is located, what movements make it better or worse, your injury history, and how your body responds to different angles and positions—it’s hard to say whether a slope board would help or hurt.

What I’ve found over the years is that the right tools used at the wrong time (or in the wrong way) can actually slow down your healing—or even make things worse. The most effective rehab always starts with understanding exactly what your knee is dealing with.

That’s why I offer a Complimentary 15-Minute Consultation. We’ll talk about what’s going on with your knee and I’ll let you know what I’d recommend based on your situation—not just generic advice.

Hi
For years, I kept two worlds separate.

On one hand—the healing arts: gentle, precise, and deeply restorative work that supports the body in releasing tension, rewiring the nervous system, and restoring alignment.

On the other—martial arts: demanding, dynamic, and built for power, speed, and survival.

But something shifted…

In my recent conversation with my friend and martial artist Sonny Puzikas, we explored what happens **when these two worlds collide—**and merge.

➡️ Listen here: https://www.thekneepainguru.com/forward-training-concepts-with-sonny-puzikas/

This interview dives into:

- How movement designed for survival can be adapted for healing and longevity

- Why tension patterns sabotage both strength and joint health—and how to reprogram them

- The surprising reflexes hidden inside martial movement that can restore mobility and relieve pain

If you're like me—someone who's trained hard and is now looking for sustainability, or someone healing from injury who still wants capability and strength—you’ll get a ton out of this talk.

The gap is finally being bridged.

Down the Path to Knee Replacement Surgery... It starts off subtly. A twinge. A tightness. A small ache you chalk up to overdoing it. But over time, that whisper becomes a scream. And if you're not paying attention, you could find yourself down a path you never expected—the path to knee replacement surgery. As someone who’s worked with thousands of clients over the past 26 years—both online and in person—I’ve seen this pattern play out over and over again....
