Yesterday, Seniors Home Care celebrated 𝟯𝟵 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 of bringing trusted, compassionate in-home care to seniors across our community! With hearts full of joy and confetti flying, we want to say a big 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨!

𝗧𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 — your compassion, reliability, and hard work makes every day brighter for the seniors we serve and it's the heart of everything we do. We're so proud to celebrate a 96% on-time rate that exemplifies our team's dedication, and we thank you for every visit, smile, and moment of support that have made us the trusted company we are today!

This week we were proud to attend the APDA Missouri Chapter celebration for their top donors! There, we were reminded how the APDA makes a profound difference in the lives of people living with Parkinson’s disease.

We were deeply moved by the premiere of their new video, “𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝’𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲” — a touching journey that captures the raw challenges of diagnosis and the life-changing power of community support.

Parkinson’s initially stole David’s energy, mobility, and life but everything shifted once he attended an APDA conference in St. Louis. He found optimism when he needed it most.

Events like this remind us that donor support isn’t just funding. It restores hope, builds community, and helps people live fuller lives with Parkinson’s. It’s everything we stand for at SHC and SAGE and support through the APDA. 💙

A story of what changes when you get help from SAGE -

"𝐒𝐢𝐱 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐨: We were looking at memory care facilities. I was heartbroken but didn't see another option at the time. Mom was declining fast, I was drowning, and something had to change.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲: Mom is still in her home. She's gained back some weight. She gardens regularly with her caregiver. She's engaged and on her good days, she's very present and chatty.

The difference isn't that her dementia got better... it didn't. The difference is she now has specialized support that meets her where she is.

She gotten to stay in the home she loves, keep the routines that bring her clarity, and be surrounded by her own life."

Today we celebrate our other amazing Social Worker – Jill. She was kind enough to share her journey to becoming a social worker.

“My family has helped people all of my life. In high school, I had a very serious life event happen and a counselor helped me through it. When I went to college I thought about being a counselor but that limited me to just counseling and I wanted to do more, so I became a Social Worker.

From the beginning I felt welcomed and supported at SHC. It's clear that SHC genuinely cares about the clients as well as the caregivers. I know the work I do truly makes a difference in seniors' lives. Being part of a team that is committed, compassionate, and dedicated to quality care is why I am proud to work for Seniors Home Care."

As National Social Worker Month nears an end, we want to highlight our wonderful social workers! We asked Angie about her inspiration and this is what she had to say.

“I chose to be a social worker because I wanted to help people. I always felt connected to older adults, especially those with health issues who couldn’t afford services to improve their quality of life. I wanted to advocate for this population that had the wisdom from experience but was often overlooked by younger groups. If we are lucky, we will all be ‘older adults.’

SHC provides me with a positive environment where I feel appreciated and can use my skills in a variety of ways, whether it's supporting clients, families, or staff. They encourage us to lead, ask questions, find solutions, and be confident in decision making. This in turn makes me a better social worker, and I can achieve my goal from years ago to help others as effectively as possible.”
