The most important piece of advice I can give you is…

To remember that “Complexity is the enemy of execution” (Tony Robbins).

You need to keep it simple, because the more steps or conditions you give yourself, the less likely you are to do the thing that you need to do.

For instance, if you want to exercise more, make it extremely easy for yourself to do so.

Don’t get a gym membership that is half an hour away from your home…etc

Don’t over complicate things…you will get to your goal much more quickly this way.

What is one simple thing you can do TODAY that could help you get to your goal?

Your fatigue and weight gain affects all areas……

This is why it is so important that you adopt a comprehensive approach when dealing with your fatigue and weight gain.

It affects your mindset by creating the sense of depression.
It affects your physical body by making it hard to do everyday activities.
It affects your relationships by creating a sense of insecurity and unworthiness.
It affects your leisure by making you too tired to do anything fun.
This is why patching the symptoms never works.

It is not until we address the root cause of the problem that it will stop affecting these areas.

Out of these 4 areas – which area do you find your fatigue and weight gain affects you the most?

The Steps I took to get from tired and “round” to having more energy and a slimmer waistline.

Transformation of your health doesn’t happen all at once…

But when you commit to THE RIGHT actions, you will begin to see significant changes in your energy levels and waistline in a fairly short amount of time.

The steps that I took to get from tired and “round” to having more energy and a slimmer waistline are doable by everyone and are probably a lot simpler than you would think.

I focused on…

✅ Integrating one simple habit change at a time, for instance I stopped eating sugary snacks but still enjoyed the occasional dessert.
✅ Getting back to the basics - more water, less sugar, more sleep, less screen time.
✅ Becoming really focused on making exercise a priority. No matter how I felt or what the weather was like I went for a minimum of a 20 minutes a day.

As you can see, these are not life altering changes and starting with these do-able goals allowed me to gain momentum which encouraged me to start making even more changes.

All of this led to the transformation that I now enjoy.

So if you were going to get started on changing your health outcomes today, what is ONE thing you could commit to doing?

Write it in the comments so that I can give you some tips and encouragement as you begin!

Getting your partner/family on board…

When you decide that change is necessary sometimes it is the people who are the closest to you that can actually stand in the way of your success.

They may not see the problem in the same way that you do or they may have a very different way of wanting to solve the problem.

They may be more comfortable with a mainstream approach, while you want to try something a bit more unconventional.

Or they might just be completely resistant to how YOUR changes affect their own life.

Here are 3 tips to overcome that…

1. COMMUNICATION is KEY – communicating why this change or this action is so important and necessary for your health and wellbeing.
2. Point out the benefits that changes in you will have for them and your family.
3. NEGOTIATE your position without giving up your non-negotiables so that it becomes a decision that is made together versus something you unilaterally decide.

On a scale of 1-10 how supportive is your spouse/family when it comes to the transformation you desire? Post your number in the comments below

When it’s “one of those days” and I need a “pick-me up” I…

1. I find something to do outside. (Either go for a stroll or sit by the water)
2. I listen to my favorite gospel music
3. Spend more time doing my favorite hobby …even if I don’t “have the time”.

These are some MUCH healthier ways that I have learned to raise my mood when it hasn’t been a stellar day.

I find that these things can bring me back to a good place really quickly.

What is something you do (instead of self-sabotage!) that you find really helpful?

Trust me…these “quick fixes” don’t work:

- Long term intermittent fasting will help me lose weight and keep it off ….. It can initially help you lose weight but in the long term it will slow down your metabolism

-I will eat 1000 calories a day to lose weight….. Initially you will lose weight but what kind of weight? Starving yourself will break down muscle mass which will slow down your metabolism… which means you will become a skinnier fat person.

- Exercising hard for a long period of time will help me lose weight ….. exercising too hard can tear down muscle mass instead of burning fat… which can slow down your metabolism and increase your cortisol production. All which puts on belly fat.

-Herbal “detox” formulas will help me lose weight…. If you detox correctly, it is beneficial but if not, it could cause you to gain weight if your liver and kidneys aren’t supported

I KNOW how tempting it can be to try the latest weight loss fad to shed those unwanted pounds.

But let me tell you…

I have “been there done that” soooo many times to know that these are all the same thing wrapped up in different packaging.

These are not long-term solutions to the problem.

While they may give you temporary results...

They are NOT ultimately going to help you get to your goal of never needing to “diet” again

Read and save all the above slides to help remind you why these things don’t work and then stay tuned as I continue to post about the solutions that WILL work!

Tell me something you have tried that you thought was “THEE” solution but ended up NOT being a long term solution.
