Thank You for Your Testimonials and Feedback!
Years ago, when I first started sharing my story, I was approached by a couple of marketing companies who told me that I needed to "tone down" my story because it was too unrealistic and that the general public would never believe it.

They also told me that my story would eventually die off because that's what happens with most stories. Also, they said that since the general public prefers to take pills instead of changing their diet and lifestyle, I should promote supplements (pills) in order to start a business and build my reputation.

But, because so many of you have continued to share your stories as well as my story, the marketing experts have been proven wrong -- well, at least, partially. :-)

I cannot thank each of you enough for what you have done against all odds. Every time you write a testimonial or share a post, it is a slap in the face of the pharmaceutical companies, who have convinced many of us that they have the answer to our health troubles.

According to the pharmaceutical companies and marketing experts, because my story was too unrealistic, they felt that my story would die a quick death. But, here we are, more than 15 years since I first shared my story; and, more than 12 years since my first book was originally published.

None of this would have been possible without your help! Without you, my story would not be alive today.

So, please accept my sincere thanks and gratitude for your invaluable support over these many years. I could not have done this alone ... so THANK YOU!

Sidebar: Concerning the Amazon reviews, I owe a Special Thanks to an engineer named Pamela Priest. Many years ago, she wrote the very first review of my Death to Diabetes book on Amazon. It was so well-written that more than 100 people said that the review was helpful to them. I believe that first review motivated other people to write reviews, which in turn, helped people to decide whether they should buy my book. To this day, it still remains one of the most thorough and well-written reviews of my book on Amazon. Thank you, Pam!

Why I Was Fired by the American Diabetes Association (ADA)

This month (November) is Diabetes Awareness Month, but, what you need to be "aware of" is that you don't have to continue taking drugs and suffering with Type 2 diabetes when there are safer options.
http://bit.ly/fired-by-ada

The primary focus of Diabetes Awareness Month is on Type 1 diabetes which primarily affects children and young adults. Type 2 diabetes primarily affects older adults, African-Americans, and other ethnic groups. Type 1 is 5% of the diabetes population and Type 2 is 95%. According to the CDC there are more than 100 million people in the US with prediabetes and diabetes.

The primary goal of diabetes awareness month is to RAISE MONEY, INCREASE DONATIONS and INCREASE MEMBERSHIP -- not to help people with their diabetes. Visit the ADA website and try to find a training class or support group -- instead of finding real help, you will be offered some services that you have to pay for or you will be asked to donate to the ADA. But, you won't be able to find a support group or a training class, which is what most people need in the beginning.

To make matters worse, the ADA, JDRF, IDF, AMA, AHA, NKF, AADE and the other alphabet-soup health/medical organizations realize that it's easier to get donations by focusing on Type 1 diabetes because you can get people to feel more sorry for young children than to feel sorry for older adults. Sad, but true ...

I worked for the ADA, so I was well aware of this and other marketing strategies that were focused on raising money instead of helping people with their diabetes. But, at that time, I was so excited to be able to share my story, I ignored this side of the ADA.

However, during some of my talks, I was ridiculed and attacked by some doctors, reporters and other people in the community because I wasn't a doctor and had no right to talk about medical problems. They accused me of taking advantage of diabetics by giving them false hope.

They told me that I should shut up and go back to engineering. I guess in today's jargon, I would be told something like "stay in your lane" or "shut up and dribble" (although I really can't dribble). :-)

Because I liked helping people, I did shut up somewhat by cutting back on speaking out about diabetes and how to get off the drugs. I tried to endear myself to the ADA by talking more about nutrition and less about the drugs.

But, in the end, it didn't really matter because eventually I was fired by the ADA when a couple doctors complained that some of their patients were reducing their medications because of my nutritional program. They even admitted to me that their focus was to increase membership and donations!

So, maybe, all of us should be speaking up and putting pressure on the ADA and these other health organizations to actually help people instead of being a front for the pharmaceutical companies to make money. One of the best ways to put pressure on these organizations is stop donating your money to them, share this post, and hashtag to the ADA ().

Now, I know that you're busy and don't have the time to get involved, but, it only takes a few seconds to share this post; or, retweet my tweet on Twitter (https://twitter.com/deathtodiabetes/).

Emotions: The Dark Side of Diabetes and Other Diseases --Why We Suffer Unnecessarily

Have you ever wondered why we struggle so much with losing weight or fighting a disease like Type 2 diabetes even though we know that we should change our eating habits and lifestyle?

There are hundreds of reasons (and excuses) for this, e.g. poor diet, motivation, cravings, wrong information, stress, genetics, lifestyle, financial resources, environment, etc.

But, there are only two reasons that dominate our struggle:
1. Wrong Information: We are following the wrong diet and don't know it.
2. Lack of Motivation: We're not motivated or willing to change for some reason.

So, if we have the right information and we're following the right diet, then, why do we still continue to struggle with improving our health?

Believe it or not, the Number 1 reason why we struggle with our health is due to procrastination! And, the reason why we procrastinate is usually emotionally-related! There are several "dark" emotions that control us on a subconscious level and keep us from getting healthy!
http://bit.ly/why-remain-diabetic

There are many emotional and psychological reasons why we "rationalize" our current behavior and procrastinate against change. It is difficult to force yourself to leave your comfort zone, give up your favorite foods and eat foods that you don't like. :-)

As depicted in the following diagram, some of these emotional and psychological reasons include: anger, fear, depression, shame/embarrassment, lack of motivation, apathy, denial, lack of hope, lack of emotional support, lack of discipline, lifestyle, ignorance/lack of knowledge, blind faith in doctors & drugs, distrust in others, envy/jealousy, etc.
http://bit.ly/impact-psychologically

If you want to improve your health, you must be willing to embrace and combat these emotional and psychological issues by using various coping mechanisms and tools, including education, support, prayer/meditation, and advocacy. If not, then, you will remain a victim and a long-term customer of the toxic drugs you're taking ...

Type 2 Diabetes Affects Each of the 12 Systems in the Human Body! Part 2

There are 12 major systems in the human body: circulatory, endocrine, digestive, nervous, respiratory, skeletal, reproductive, immune/lymphatic, muscular, integumentary, urinary, and ocular.

Based on several studies, 97.3% of all diabetics end up with health problems that affect multiple organs as well as multiple systems!
http://bit.ly/systems-affected

But, the good news is that a lot of this can be prevented or treated naturally if you are willing to be proactive and take action, e.g. change diet, lifestyle, detox, etc.

Type 2 Diabetes Affects Every Major Organ in the Human Body! Part 1

Type 2 diabetes can eventually affect almost every major organ in your body. As a result, as the diabetes continues to progress and cause damage to multiple organs, it becomes more difficult to fight and defeat the disease.
http://bit.ly/organs-affected

Unfortunately, because diabetes doesn't cause pain in many of these organs for years, there is no motivation to make dietary or lifestyle changes; and, as a result, the damage to the organs and related tissues goes undetected and ignored -- until it's too late ...

KEY POINT! Just because you don't feel anything doesn't mean that nothing is happening or that you're fine! This is a major mistake that diabetics make every day!

Consequently, it becomes more difficult to fight and defeat the disease because the rotting of the organs and tissues goes undetected. And, don't expect the diabetic drugs to help. In fact, studies now show that diabetic drugs do absolutely nothing to stop the rot and the progression of diabetes.

FYI: Based on several studies, 97.3% of all diabetics end up with health problems that affect multiple organs and systems!

But, the good news is that a lot of this can be prevented if you are willing to be proactive and take action, e.g. change diet, lifestyle, detox, etc.

Top 10 Super Foods for Brain Health - Part 3
Given the rise in brain and nervous system-related diseases and health problems, it is important to protect your brain and nervous system from various diseases and health problems.

These diseases and health problems include strokes, seizures, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis (MS), Guillain-Barré Syndrome, ADHD, autism, cardiovascular disease, depression, diabetes, high blood pressure, inflammation, other autoimmune diseases, etc.

Here are some of the key super foods that will help to nourish, detox and protect your brain and your nervous system from these diseases and health problems.

Alzheimer's Disease and Diabetes - Part 2
Alzheimer's Disease, which is also known as Type 3 diabetes, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that causes damage to the brain and is the most common form of mental decline, or dementia, in older adults. The damage to the brain eventually causes problems with memory, intelligence, judgment, language, and behavior.

Unfortunately, by the time a person is diagnosed with Alzheimer's, too much damage to the brain has occurred, making it difficult to treat. However, if diagnosed sooner, there are still many natural strategies that can help a person with Alzheimer's and other brain/nervous system-related diseases and health problems.

The Brain and Its Major Functions - Part 1
The brain is the most complex organ in the human body. Unfortunately, medical science knows less about the brain than any other organ.
http://bit.ly/brain-overview

In fact, only recently did medical science finally admit that the brain has its own lymphatic system. As a result, detox methods can be used to help treat and protect the brain.

This is important to be aware of, especially since diseases and health problems associated with the brain and the nervous system (e.g. Alzheimer's, dementia, multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's, migraines, seizures, strokes, etc.) are on the rise due to our environment, food, medications, etc.

There are other diseases and health problems associated with the brain and the nervous system that are also on the rise, but, many of them are either drug-induced or food/chemical-induced disorders/diseases, e.g. attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, Alzheimer's, dementia, multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's, migraines, seizures, strokes, etc.).

FYI: Health problems or "made-up" disorders such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are used as an excuse to put children on unnecessary drugs such as Adderall and Ritalin.

Note 1: Refer to the next post (Part 2) for a diagram that shows how each region of the brain is impacted from Alzheimer's disease.

Note 2: Refer to a future post (Part 3) for a list of super foods that support brain health and prevent many of the aforementioned diseases and health problems.

Cancer-Fighting Super Foods
Although cancer and diabetes are two entirely different diseases with different pathologies, these diseases share some common attributes, e.g. nutrient deficiencies, fueled by glucose, hormonal imbalances, hyperinsulinemia, cell inflammation, excess oxidation, high levels of toxicity, weakened immunity, use of toxic drugs, etc.

Recent studies have shown that diabetic drugs keep your body in a diabetic state so that you will remain diabetic. Similarly, cancer chemotherapy and radiation treatments have been proven to weaken the immune system and cause cancer to return and/or develop in other parts of the body.

Other studies support the use of natural strategies to treat both diabetes and cancer. Some of the same super foods that help to fight diabetes can also be used to help fight cancer, e.g. broccoli, garlic, green tea, raw juices, raw nuts and seeds, green vegetables, plant oils, etc.
http://bit.ly/natural-strategies
http://bit.ly/cancer-super-foods

Warning: This is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but, don't fall for the hokey-doke. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is not to help women prevent breast cancer by getting mammograms. In fact, over time, mammograms may cause cancer!
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is part of an ingenious marketing ploy that the medical industry and pharmaceutical companies use to increase their donations and fuel their multi-billion-dollar drug business. Instead of creating awareness, we should be putting pressure on them and the government to provide actual cures and solutions instead of giving us toxic drugs that poison our bodies and keep them in a diseased state.
