For so long, death was the word we didn’t say. Families whispered it behind closed doors, as if avoiding it might somehow keep it away. But silence never stopped the ending, it only stole time from our living.

Today, more of us are changing the conversation. We are learning that naming death doesn’t invite it in; it invites honesty. It creates space for wishes to be spoken, for forgiveness to be offered, for love to be expressed. Talking about death doesn’t make it come faster, and not talking about it doesn’t slow it down. What it does is remind us of the fragile, beautiful truth, we are alive, right now.

And that is the heart of it. When we can hold both truths, that we are living and that one day we will die, we are freed to live more fully. So I ask you gently: what will you do with this wonderful, fleeting day you have been gifted? How will you choose to show up for this life, while it’s still yours to live?

Scammers are back at it, please be aware of recent scam calls reported.

We have received multiple reports of citizens being contacted by Pearland Police Officers and told they missed jury duty. The caller then claims a federal warrant will be issued unless payment is made immediately. Victims are instructed to go to their bank, withdraw money, and transfer funds to avoid arrest.

🚨 This is a scam 🚨

Please remember:
• Law enforcement will NEVER call and demand payment over the phone
• We will NEVER direct you to go to your bank or transfer money to pay a fine
• Legitimate court matters are handled through official documents and not urgent phone calls

Do not provide personal or financial information. If you receive one of these calls, hang up immediately.

Please share this with your friends and family to help prevent others from becoming victims.
