A frozen world is about to meet its brightest glow.
As we move into the peak of winter 2026, the second full moon of the year—the Snow Moon—is set to take center stage.
It is named by North American tribes for the heavy snowfalls of February.
The best time to watch is during moonrise on Sunday evening. As the Moon clears the eastern horizon shortly after sunset, the "Moon Illusion" will make it appear massive and deeply golden against the fading light.
Clear skies, everyone!
