Webster Comfort Care is a comprehensive and compassionate 2-bed home for the dying in the Webster community. It is a true home-like atmosphere, not a health care facility or a hospital. We ascribe to the hospice philosophy of care that states that all persons have the right to die with dignity, to have enhanced quality of life, and to be as comfortable as possible. Our primary goal is to provide comfort care, symptom control and pain management for our residents, as well as to be a source of respite care for the families.

As Volunteer Appreciation Week wraps up, here’s a look at some of the ways we’ve been celebrating our incredible volunteers. The past few days have been extra special—featuring delicious fried cakes from Schutt’s and other small tokens of thanks to those who give so much of their time.

We’ve loved recognizing our volunteers for “bee-ing” such a blessing with complimentary Burt’s Bees lip balms and adding a little extra fun with daily gift card giveaways.

We truly couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers. Thank you for all that you do!

It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we’re proud to shine a light on the incredible people who give their time and heart to our community.

One of our dedicated volunteers, Lisa, shared what brought her to WCCH:

"I started volunteering at WCCH after feeling called to give back in a meaningful way, and it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. What I love most is the simple, human connection—whether it’s helping a resident with a shower, sharing stories, or just chatting about the day. Those small moments mean everything.

My background in healthcare—working as a CNA, EMT, and in emergency departments—eventually led me here, and every step along the way helped prepare me for this role. One of the most meaningful experiences was caring for a former coworker in her final days. Being trusted to support her and her family was truly an honor I’ll never forget.

Every resident I meet teaches me something new, and I’m constantly inspired by the compassion of the nurses and fellow volunteers. WCCH has brought purpose and joy back into my life, and I’m so grateful to be part of it."

To all of our volunteers: thank you for the compassion, dignity, and connection you bring to every moment. You make a difference every single day.

We have some truly "scent-sational" volunteers, and "muffin" compares to all that they do.
