Lucia shares a simple and wholesome recipe that turns healthy ingredients into delicious cookies you can enjoy anytime.

Ingredients
• 1 cup chickpea flour
• ½ cup almond flour
• ¼ cup almond butter
• 2 to 3 tablespoons of plant-based milk, preferably almond milk
• Date sugar to taste
• Nuts for topping

Instructions

1. In a bowl, sift together the chickpea flour, almond flour, and date sugar to remove any lumps.
2. Add the almond butter and mix well before adding the milk.
3. Gradually pour in the plant-based milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough reaches a smooth, firm texture that holds together.
4. Roll the dough into even portions and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
5. Gently press each cookie to shape and top with your favorite nuts.
6. Bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes, or until lightly golden.

These cookies are simple, nutritious, and naturally sweetened, showing that healthy can also taste amazing.

🌿 Sunlight and Gods Healing Plan

We are grateful for the encouraging update from Pastor Ted Wilson regarding Sister Nancys recovery. As she spends time in the sunshine each day, she is experiencing the blessing of one of Gods simple natural remedies.

The counsels found in Ministry of Healing remind us that God has given eight natural remedies for health and restoration: pure air, sunlight, temperance, rest, exercise, proper diet, the use of water, and trust in divine power. These principles continue to bring strength and recovery when practiced with faith.

At NEWSTART we daily witness how the simple methods God has provided support the body in healing and bring harmony to physical, mental, social, and spiritual life.

Recently, Dr. Roger Seheult posted the following message on my X account: "Blessings Pastor! May I suggest for your dear wife that as far as it is possible to get her outside into the sunshine for at least 30 minutes as there is ample evidence that it helps heal and also reduces the need for pain medication in post-op period!" He then linked to a study giving evidence for this (see link at the end of this post).

I want to thank Dr Robert Seheult for his excellent advice for my wife, Nancy, to spend at least 30 minutes a day in the sunshine as she recuperates from a fall which broke her upper femur which resulted in major orthopedic surgery. She is recovering very well and we praise God……and she has been spending time out in the sunshine to aid in her recovery.

Sunlight is one of God’s natural remedies and we praise Him. In the Spirit of Prophecy writings of Ellen G White, which I believe are direct instructions from God in heaven, we note in the book “Ministry of Healing,” page 127, that God’s eight natural remedies are: pure air, sunlight, temperance, rest, exercise, proper diet, use of water, and trust in divine power. What a blessing to have these precious instructions and follow them, by God’s grace and power.

In the following months, we will be emphasizing various health presentations since this is intrinsic to our overall understanding of being a whole person created by God with physical, mental, social, and spiritual components. We are told in the Spirit of Prophecy that health is an integral part of the third angel’s message of Revelation 14:9-12. We will have presentations on comprehensive health ministry (medical missionary work), better health, healthy lifestyles, health reform, and other topics. The plan is to obtain various, uplifting presentations from various places like the General Conference Health Ministries Department, Loma Linda University Health, Weimar University, and other sources. We will periodically share these helpful presentations to God’s glory.

One of the most fascinating presentations I have heard is by Dr Roger Seheult on sunlight. We will share that presentation with you in an upcoming post and we thank Dr Seheult for his excellent research and commitment to godly, practical, and helpful presentations.

Nancy and I have been very positively impressed and blessed by Dr Seheult’s presentation and this picture of health recovery of Nancy shows our practical application to this wonderful presentation by Dr Seheult of Loma Linda University Health.

Barley is a wholesome grain full of fiber and nutrition, perfect for a refreshing, colorful salad. In this episode, Lucia shows you how to prepare an easy and delicious barley salad, combining fresh vegetables, herbs, and seasonings for a healthy meal that can substitute rice without spiking blood sugar.

Ingredients

1 cup of cooked barley
1 cup of tomatoes in cubes
¼ cup of chopped onions
¼ cup of green olives
3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
½ cup of chopped green onions
1 cup of cucumber
½ cup of edamame
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon of ground cumin
½ teaspoon of salt

Instructions

Cook the barley until tender (about 15 minutes in an Instant Pot works well).
In a large bowl, combine the cooked barley, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, green onions, and edamame.
Add the green olives.
Season with garlic powder, cumin, and salt.
Pour in the lemon juice and mix everything together.
Adjust seasonings to taste and serve fresh.

Do you have a swollen ankle, painful knee, or inflamed joints? A ginger poultice is a simple, natural remedy that can help ease discomfort from arthritis, gout, backache, and joint injuries by drawing out inflammation.

You’ll need:
• Fresh ginger root
• Paper towel (or a washable cloth)
• Plastic wrap
• Paper tape
• Ace bandage
• Optional: Oil for sensitive skin

Instructions:

Grate fresh ginger until you have enough to make a layer about ¼ inch thick.
Spread the grated ginger evenly on a paper towel (or cloth) large enough to cover the painful area. Fold it over to enclose the ginger.
Cut a piece of plastic wrap slightly larger than the poultice.
If your skin is sensitive, rub a little oil on the area first.
Place the poultice over the painful spot, cover it with plastic wrap, and secure it with paper tape.
Wrap an ace bandage around the area to keep it in place.
Leave on for 3–5 hours, or until the heat becomes too intense. Remove earlier if needed.
Never reuse a poultice — make a fresh one each time.
You may start feeling warmth within 20 minutes, which means the ginger is working. Always use the simplest remedies and trust that God’s blessing can work through these natural means.
