🚨 RECALL ALERT 🚨

Fisher Price recalls Snug Infant Swings due to suffocation risk!!

Between 2012 and 2022, there have been reports of five deaths involving infants 1 to 3 months of age when the product was used for sleep.

Consumers are reminded to never use these products for sleep and to never add blankets or other materials to the swing, even after the headrest and the body support insert have been removed. Parents and caregivers should never use any inclined seated products, such as swings, gliders, soothers, and rockers, for infant sleep and should not leave infants in these products unsupervised, unrestrained, or with bedding material due to the risk of suffocation.

Approximately 2.1 million swings were sold in the United States, about 99,000 swings were sold in Canada and about 500 swings were sold in Mexico.

Consumers should immediately remove both the headrest (by cutting the tether) and the body support insert from the seat pad before continuing to use the swing. Fisher-Price will provide a $25 refund to consumers who remove and destroy the headrest and body support insert. Instructions can be found at www.service.mattel.com.

If you believe you have the affected cucumbers do not eat them. Dispose of them and wash any surfaces they may have touched with hot soapy water.

Signs and symptoms of Salmonella food poisoning include:
-Diarrhea
-Fever of >102 degrees
-Bloody diarrhea
-Vomiting so much that wvwn liquids cannot be kept down.
-dehydration

We care about your babies’ safety- and a huge part
of that is safe sleep. Several major retailers are now stopping the sales of weighted sleep sacks after the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) spent years showing that these products are not safe.

Remember- your babies should be put down on their back, in their own safe sleep space, alone (no blankets/ toys/ etc) every night!

Following years of advocacy, AAP leaders say the decision by several major retailers to stop selling harmful infant weighted sleep products is a strong first step.

Unfortunately we are seeing a large amount of kiddos and families with stomach bugs/ norovirus currently. These viruses are very contagious, and thorough handwashing and use of Lysol type wipes on high touch surfaces along with thorough bathroom disinfecting is a good idea.

Keep an eye out for dehydration in young kids, and of course you can call us with any concerns. Children should not return to school or daycare until they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of medicine and have not thrown up or had diarrhea in over 24 hours.

❄️ Looks like we are in for snow tomorrow! ❄️

❄️ Snow activities such as sledding, ice skating, and snow person building are great exercise for your kiddos.
❄️Dress your kids in several thin layers to keep them dry and warm- and don’t forget hats, boots, and warm jackets.
❄️ The rule of thumb for infants and small children is dress them in one more layer than you are wearing yourself.

Quaker recall expanded to include some granola bars due to potential of Salmonella contamination. Please check your snacks in case you have purchased the affected items and dispose of them if you have them.

An updated recall notice posted Wednesday included an additional granola bar potentially contaminated with salmonella.

Is that sun ☀️ we see??! It’s about time. Today and this weekend look like good days to get some outside time in for exercise and Vitamin D. But- just because it is winter does NOT mean that you don’t need sunscreen or sun protection! Consider face sunscreen or a hat if your kiddos will be outside, especially during the middle of the day.
