This is what NAD⁺ decline looks like.

A gradual reduction in cellular energy, where repair slows but damage continues.
Over time, this shifts how skin behaves.

Slower recovery.
Reduced resilience.
Visible fatigue.

The focus isn’t stimulation alone.
It’s support.
Supporting how the system maintains energy, repair, and balance.

We can now map the skin in incredible detail.

But mapping isn’t repair.

Aging skin shows the same patterns:
- Fibroblasts slow down
- Senescent signals increase
- Cell communication breaks

Biology doesn’t respond to observation, it responds to inputs.

As our Co-Founder, Anastasia Khodzhaeva explains, real change happens when you give the cell what it needs:
- NAD+ to restore energy.
- Spermidine to activate autophagy.
- Ergothioneine to protect mitochondria.

This is the difference between understanding aging and actually influencing it.

Your skin doesn’t need a better map.
It needs a protocol.

Your hair is one of the most metabolically active tissues in your body, which means it is also one of the first places stress, hormone shifts, nutrient gaps, and inflammation show up. And yet almost nobody is measuring it.

By the time hair loss is visible in the mirror, the clock has already been running for years. You can lose half the density in an area before anyone notices, including you. This is not a shampoo problem. It is a cellular one with a head start.

I sat down with Dr. Alan Bauman, founder of Bauman Medical and one of the most respected hair restoration physicians in the world, known for a masterclass on hair longevity, with nearly 30 years of practice and over 35,000 patients.

We also cover:

✅ Why testosterone optimization and GLP-1s are quietly accelerating hair loss in people.
✅ The precision diagnostic process that replaces guesswork with data.
✅ Why preservation has to come before restoration, and what actually protects the hair you still have.

Today, our Co-Founder and CEO, Amitay Eshel, breaks down how methylene blue actually works.
Yes, it supports mitochondrial function and reduces oxidative stress.

But most of that evidence is based on topical use.
Oral delivery follows a completely different pathway, where bioavailability determines whether it reaches the skin at all.

Watch this video to understand the difference between using an ingredient and understanding how it actually works.

Hormone optimization therapy is one of the fastest-growing categories in longevity medicine. Almost nobody in the space talks about what it does to your hair.

If your testosterone goes up, your DHT goes up with it. And if you are even mildly genetically sensitive to DHT, that shift can accelerate androgenetic alopecia in ways that are sometimes permanent.

This is not a reason to avoid hormone optimization. It is a reason to measure your hair while you do it, and to work with someone who will track it alongside your hormones instead of pretending the tradeoff does not exist.

We go deeper into this in our latest episode with Dr. Alan Bauman, founder of Bauman Medical and one of the most respected hair restoration physicians in the world.

We also cover:

✅ Why GLP-1s are quietly triggering hair loss in roughly one in thirty users.
✅ How precision diagnostics catch accelerated loss before it shows up in the mirror.
✅ The preservation-first protocols that protect your hair while you optimize everything else.

Everybody wants longevity. Few support cleanup.

A new Nature Reviews paper puts spermidine back in focus, a molecule that activates autophagy, your cells’ built-in system for clearing damage.

And this isn’t just about the brain.
Your skin depends on the same process. When cleanup slows, cells become senescent, no longer functioning, but driving inflammation and visible aging.

Most skincare works on the surface. The shift is supporting how skin functions.

At Young Goose, we formulate with that in mind: helping cells reset, repair, and clear what no longer serves them.

Because longevity starts with maintenance.

We’re excited to be part of the Understanding Skin Tour in Los Angeles.

Join us for two days focused on the science behind skin longevity, where protocols replace guesswork.

April 19–20. Hope to see you there.

Skincare just caught up to mitochondrial science.

The largest beauty brand in the world is now saying what longevity science has shown for years - your mitochondria control how your skin ages.

Their approach: Urolithin A (Mitopure) to trigger mitophagy - recycling damaged mitochondria.

It’s real science. And it’s a genuine step forward for the industry.

But here’s the thing about mitochondrial health - it’s not one mechanism. It’s an ecosystem.

Mitophagy clears the damaged ones. NAD+ fuels the healthy ones. Autophagy recycles the cellular debris. Antioxidant defense protects them from oxidative stress.

Addressing one hallmark of aging is a start. Addressing the interconnected biology of skin longevity? That’s the whole picture.

We’re glad the mainstream is catching up. We’ve been here.

Is exosomes the breakthrough everyone thinks they are?

Exosomes are how cells communicate—not the ingredient itself.

What they carry matters:
proteins → signaling
microRNAs → regulation
growth factors → repair instructions|

But here’s what’s often missed:

Signaling → requires energy
Repair → requires NAD+

So it’s not just about sending better signals.
It’s about whether your cells can execute them.

The part that doesn’t get talked about enough is that NAD+ isn’t just declining on its own, something is actively accelerating it.

CD38 doesn’t randomly spike with age. It’s driven by the accumulation of senescent cells, the ones your body failed to clear out. They trigger more CD38. More CD38 destroys more NAD+. Lower NAD+ creates more senescent cells. The loop compounds quietly for years before you ever see it on your face.

This is why replenishing NAD+ without addressing what’s draining it is only solving half the problem.

We go deeper into this in our latest episode on NAD+ in the Biohacking Beauty Podcast.

We also cover:

✅ Why one afternoon in the sun can wipe out 90% of your skin’s NAD+.
✅ The three enzyme families consuming your NAD+ around the clock.
✅ NMN vs NR vs niacin: which precursor actually works and why it matters.

Nature - the most cited scientific journal on earth - just published a feature on skincare.

Their message: forget the 12-step routines. Forget the viral ingredients with no evidence. The science of skin is deep, but the recommendations are simpler than TikTok wants you to believe.

Here’s what stood out:

SkinTok generates over 1 billion views per month. Most of those views promote products with little to no scientific backing.

Dermatologists keep saying the same thing - gentle cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, and a nutrient-dense diet will do more for your skin than most trending serums.

But here’s where it gets interesting.

Nature also acknowledged that ‘the science of skin is deep.’ And that’s the part most people will skip.

Because the real frontier isn’t about which product to layer next. It’s about what’s happening inside your cells. Mitochondrial function. NAD+ levels declining with age - most measurably in the skin. Autophagy slowing down. Cellular senescence accumulating.

The 12 Hallmarks of Aging don’t care about your skincare routine’s aesthetic. They care about whether your cells have the energy and raw materials to repair themselves.

So yes - simplify your routine. Nature got that right.

But don’t confuse ‘simple’ with ‘surface level.’

The smartest skincare in 2026 isn’t about more steps. It’s about deeper science.
