It’s Friday and the holidays are creeping in 🎄🧠

For individuals with ADHD, this time of year can feel extra challenging.

Shorter weeks. Disrupted routines. Social plans. End of year deadlines.
Your brain is already sprinting ahead while the calendar is doing backflips.

A few ADHD friendly tips to close out the week strong:

• Lower the bar intentionally. Fridays before holidays are not for perfection. Focus on progress.
• Do a brain dump before you log off. Write everything down so your brain does not carry it all weekend.
• Create one anchor task. One small clear priority helps prevent shutdown or avoidance.
• Build in recovery time. Stimulation adds up. Schedule decompression like you schedule meetings.
• Plan Monday before Friday ends. Your future self will thank you.

ADHD does not disappear during the holidays. With the right supports it does not have to run the show either.

Give yourself permission to work with your brain not against it.

I know ADHDers love analogies! So check this out!

ADHD Awareness Is Like Starting a New Sport 🏀

If you walked into your first ever practice and the coach immediately started teaching advanced plays, complex strategies, and game film… you’d be lost.

ADHD awareness works the same way.

You don’t start with:
• productivity systems
• advanced tools
• “optimize your brain” strategies

You start with the basics.

🏁 Stage 1: Understanding the Game
What ADHD actually is (and isn’t)
How the ADHD brain processes attention, emotion, and motivation
Why “trying harder” has never worked

🏋️ Stage 2: Learning the Fundamentals
Energy management
Executive function skills
Emotional regulation
Environmental design

📈 Stage 3: Skill Development & Strategy
Personalized systems
Sustainable routines
Tools that fit your brain, not someone else’s

🏆 Stage 4: Performance & Confidence
Consistency without burnout
Self-trust
Working with your brain instead of fighting it

Most people skip Stage 1 and wonder why nothing sticks.

You wouldn’t coach a beginner like a pro.
So why do we expect that of ourselves?

Awareness comes before strategy.
Education comes before ex*****on.

That’s how real progress happens.

A new week always feels like a reset for me.

It’s a reminder that progress doesn’t have to be perfect to matter.

Working closely with teens has shown me how powerful a fresh start can be. Many of them carry last week’s stress into a new one, unfinished tasks, pressure, and self-doubt. When they’re given structure and support, that weight starts to lift.

A new week becomes less about “catching up”
and more about taking one clear step forward.

That’s the approach I believe in, steady guidance, accountability, and patience. It’s how confidence is built over time, not overnight.

Wishing everyone a grounded, focused start to the week.

I didn’t expect this week to teach me so much.

I started a volunteer offer to support teens, helping them stay organized, complete assignments, and stay accountable.
But somewhere along the line, I realized something deeper:

Most teens aren’t struggling because they’re “lazy.”
They’re overwhelmed.
They don’t know where to begin.
They don’t know who to ask.
And many of them don’t want to feel like a burden.

This final week has reminded me why safe guidance matters.
A little direction can completely shift how a young person sees their abilities.
Sometimes, all they need is someone who believes they can do it.

As I wrap up this volunteer phase, I’m grateful for every chat, every task we completed together, and every moment where a teen finally said:
“I get it now.”

That clarity is priceless.

More updates coming this week as I share the moments that stood out the most.

Most teens don’t lack ability, they lack someone who checks in without pressure.

When a teenager has a steady guide, everything shifts.
They complete tasks more often.
They show more confidence.
They stop hiding the things they find hard.

This is why accountability support works so well for teens.
It gives them structure without shame…
clarity without stress…
and a consistent person who shows up for them, even on days they feel stuck.

The goal isn’t perfection.
It’s helping them build trust in themselves again, one small win at a time.

Supporting teens is never a straight path, but the impact lasts for years.

When teens struggle to start, body doubling becomes a lifeline.

Teenagers with ADHD aren’t unmotivated.
Their brain gets stuck when a task feels too big, too boring, or too unclear.

That’s where body doubling comes in, and it works better for teens than most people realize.

Here’s why:

• They feel less alone
Someone being present reduces the pressure and quiets the mental noise.

• Their brain settles faster
A calm, supportive environment helps them shift out of overwhelm.

• They experience real momentum
Starting becomes easier, and once they begin, the task feels lighter.

• They finally finish things
Homework, projects, and chores, the stuff that usually triggers shutdowns, become achievable.

• It builds confidence
When teens experience small wins, their belief in themselves grows.

Body doubling isn’t about “helping them focus.”
It’s about showing them that they’re capable when the right conditions are in place.

I’m opening spots for Teen Body Doubling + Group Coaching starting December/January.

Body doubling makes focus easier, not because you work harder, but because you’re not doing it alone.

A calm presence can reduce overwhelm, create momentum, and help you finish what you start.

I’m opening body-doubling sessions soon for teens who need steady support with schoolwork and routines.

Send me a message if you want to join the waitlist.

I wish every teen with ADHD knew this, there is nothing wrong with the way their mind works.

I talk to teens and parents who think something is “off” because school feels harder, emotions feel louder, and focus feels unpredictable.

But here’s the truth I wish someone had told them earlier:

ADHD minds are fast.
They’re curious.
They feel deeply.
They think in ways most adults will never understand.

What looks like
• distraction
• forgetfulness
• impatience
• “not trying hard enough”

…is usually a brain that’s overloaded, understimulated, or trying to keep up with the pace of everything it’s noticing.

Here’s what I want every teen with ADHD to know:

• You’re not behind, you simply learn differently
• Your interests aren’t “obsessions,” they’re fuel
• Your emotions aren’t “too much,” they’re signals
• Your ideas aren’t unrealistic, they’re your gift
• Your path doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s

You’re not difficult.
You’re not dramatic.
You’re not failing.

You’re wired for depth, passion, creativity, and insight; you just need guidance that actually speaks to how you operate.

If you’re a parent of a teen with ADHD and you want support, send me a message or book a session.
I help teens understand their strengths, build confidence, and navigate school and life without shame.
