I may not be able to single-handedly rewrite the laws, stop all the wars, or heal every broken heart on this planet. But I can change the way I see, feel, and respond to the world. And that is where real change begins.
When I change my consciousness—my beliefs, my inner stories, my expectations—I change the field I’m living in. The same outer circumstances may be there, but I meet them with a different presence: more aware, less reactive, more rooted in truth instead of fear.
• Old patterns lose their power.
• New possibilities begin to appear.
• My choices shift, and so do my results.
From that place, my energy, my words, and my actions naturally ripple outward. I might not “change the world” in one grand gesture, but I absolutely change the world I touch: my family, my clients, my community, even the stranger who crosses my path at just the right moment.
So the question isn’t, “How do I fix everything out there?”
The question is, “What am I willing to awaken in here?”

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" at a time when he had just lost his wife and his son was crippled by the Civil War. He wrote the song about how every year when these Christmas bells ring, it reminds him that there’s peace on earth, good will toward men.
But this time around, the reality of the world he lives in at that moment rushes in. The verses change, and suddenly he’s saying, ‘But there is no peace. There’s war, and there’s hate. And this hate mocks the song of the bells.’ He’s working through his understanding of Christmas. And as the bells keep ringing, he just has this moment when he realizes God is not dead, nor does He sleep. Good will prevail. God is going to save the day. We need to hear this song, our kids need to hear this song. Let it be a reminder to the hope that we have.

If you hear yourself saying to another person “You should” or “If I were you I would”… just stop. Even if they ask for advice. Those statements tend to be disempowering and make people feel “small.” Better to ask first; “What do you need?” or “what can I do for you?
