I feel so honored and privileged to do what I do. I love helping others move into a more satisfied life. I have been serving the Wellington area in my private practice for going into 11 years now. For me, my job does not feel like work. I enjoy it through and through and am so grateful for each and every one of my clients that have walked through my doors. I love this! Transformation takes time. Often, we can be inpatient with ourselves with the pace at which we see change. We live in a world of instant gratification and can sometimes expect that for ourselves. The truth is, real growth and change takes time, patience, consistency and perseverance. But it is worth the wait!

EMDR is an evidence based treatment proven to effectively treat trauma. However, did you know it can also be used for other distressing life issues? This modality is considered rapid resolution to issues that may have kept you stuck for years. This is one of my favorite modalities to use with my clients. Watching them heal from what holds them back is the best job on the planet!

Reflection. The process of therapy essentially is about self reflection- examining one’s experiences to become more aware of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, patterns, etc. What is the benefit of this? I’m sure you can imagine, a lot! It deepens our sense of self, improves connection with others, expands our development and growth as a person. And how about understanding other people’s behaviors towards us? One of the greatest realizations I’ve heard and understood is how someone treats us is a direct reflection of their capacity versus a reflection of our worth. This realization keeps our self esteem in check and keeps us from taking the blame when someone treats us poorly.

There is such beauty in silence and in nature. I look at this photo and am instantly filled with peace and serenity. Often times we can get wrapped up in the noise of life: work obligations, family life, traffic, politics, our own pains, etc. It can become overwhelming to try and keep up with everyone and everything. How often do we seek assurance by talking? How often do you take the time to get assurance through listening? Quiet and alone time is sacred and often times, the answers to what we are seeking lie in the quiet. There are many people who are reluctant to be alone or to not have distractions. Why? Quite simple….fears. There’s a lot of fear that can be associated with what comes up during these times. I know that through the silence and alone time, real, true healing occurs. We don’t have to be so afraid of it- lots of growth and opportunity is on the other side.

Detachment is a tool people can utilize to release emotional turmoil brought on by other people, places or situations. When we get too wrapped up in things we can’t control, we begin feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed and unhealthy medicaters to cope. Detaching with love allows for a feeling of freedom from turmoil that is not your own. It is not always easy to practice, especially with loved ones, but it is a tool if you desire some peace in your life when there is chaos around you. Practicing a simply mantra can help with detachment, “I’m giving myself permission to disengage” or “I’m observing without absorbing” ❤️

This is a fresh perspective on how to look at challenges. What is your soul needing to learn through the obstacles presenting to you? Perhaps it’s the same obstacle over and over again. I’ve seen this time and time again. What if we leaned into the resistance of the obstacle versus trying to avoid it? Growth and liberations is always on the other side of pain and challenge. And until we learn the lesson, life has a way of repeating the obstacle time and time again. Try something different- view obstacles as opportunities which will open up a brand new path of beauty for you once mastered.

Let go… and feel those feelings you may have been repressing, holding onto or ignoring. Checking in with yourself multiple times a day and asking, how do I feel? Get curious about your emotions when they arise. Let them come, and go. Like visitors.
