Walter D. “Walt” Starkweather, age 85, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Saturday, October 18, 2025. He was born on December 20, 1939 in Horseheads, NY a son of the late Fred and Florence (Hall) Starkweather, was married to Debra “Debbie” (Wetherbee) Starkweather and was the last sibling of 12 children. Walt was retired from the PA DOT after 38 ½ years of service and enjoyed hunting, taking care of his lawn, helping others and especially spending time with his family and friends. Francis Robert "Bob" Fisher, age 84, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Monday, October 6, 2025. He was born on November 21, 1940 on Dantz Run Road, Wellsboro, Pa. to Daniel and Agnes (Schultz) Fisher. He graduated from Wellsboro High School and then served in the United States Army, traveling overseas as a heavy equipment operator. In 1964 Bob married Sherry Fillmore, who survives. He worked for Corning Glass Works, Corning, NY, for 38 years. After retiring, he drove for Campbell's Trucking in Galeton and, later, transported mail to Coudersport, PA.
Bob's unwavering faith in the Lord was evident in all he did. From his 5am devotionals to his tireless service to the Marsh Creek Fellowship Baptist Church and community. He truly embodied the love and grace of a Christ-centered life. Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sherry (Fillmore) Fisher, sisters: Dorthy Faivre, Reita Borden, Bonnie Allen, Nancy (Tom) Mosso, and Cheryl Kaminski, all of the Wellsboro area, brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Rick (Marlene) Fillmore. His children: Robert Fisher and Genny Fisher-Huck both of Wellsboro, PA.
Grandchildren: Bethany Huck (John Chambers), Sarah Huck, Nicole Fisher-Huck, Megan Cohick, Briar (Joy) Huck, Breanna Fillmore, and Chad Fisher. Great Grandchildren: Bryar, Quinn, Jayden, Dominick, Adrianna, Logan, Addilyn, Lennon, Harper, and Kace. And many, many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by: brother Daniel Fisher, brother and sister in law Lewis (Gladys) Fisher, sister Alberta Fisher Confer, sister and brother in law Annabelle (Dick) Rice, brother in laws: Jess Allen, Tom Kaminski, and Cub Faivre, sister in law and brother in law: Norie (Bob Gross) sister in law: Vivian Roy, brother in law and sister in law: Don (Nancy) Falk, Son in law Craig Huck and granddaughter Kristy Brown. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 1 to 2 pm at the Marsh Creek Fellowship Baptist Church, Wellsboro, PA. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Keith Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Wellsboro Cemetery, Wellsboro, PA. He was born on February 14, 1937 in Ohio, a son of the late Paine and Evelyn (Wiemer) Culp, was married to the late Dorothea “Dot” (Baker) Culp and served in the US Army. He was born on September 2, 1942 in Wellsboro, PA a son of the late Arnold and Laura (Eberenz) Rawson and was the husband of the late Vivian (Blackwell) Rawson. Dick served in the US Army, was a self-employed mechanic for many years and enjoyed restoring old cars and tractors. If Dickie can’t fix it, nobody can. She was born on February 10, 1934 in Morris, PA a daughter of the late James and Mildred (Priset) Collins and was the wife of the late John W. Davis. Phyllis was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Wellsboro, PA and had worked for Wundies, Liberty, PA for many years. She enjoyed playing euchre, gardening, swimming, going on cruises and especially spending time with family and friends. She is survived by three sons: Terry Davis of Morris, PA, Robert (Sheila Crawford) Davis of Morris, PA, Michael (Michelle) Davis of Millerton, PA, daughter: Irene (Donald) Heatley of Morris, PA, sisters: Constance Williams of Morris, PA, Donna (Lonnie) Osgood of Morris, PA, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law: Patti Lynne Davis and a brother and a sister. She was born on September 6, 1974 in Tunkhannock, PA, a daughter of the late Melvin Reibson and Mildred (Sandberg) Reibson. She was married to Doug Love and attended Christ Church, Wellsboro, PA. Brenda was a school teacher for Northern Tioga School District for many years and enjoyed hiking to Colton Point, her flower gardens and especially spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her mother: Mildred Reibson of Wellsboro, PA, husband: Doug Love of Wellsboro, PA, son: Nate Love, daughters: Melaina Love and Nora Love, all of Wellsboro, PA, brother: Richard Reibson of Wellsboro, PA. He was born on July 16, 1942 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of the late Jonas and Lenora (Walbridge) Kilburn and was married for 63 years to Clara Ann (Lawton) Kilburn. John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wellsboro and enjoyed woodworking. He was a dairy farmer, self-employed building and remodeling contractor and custodian for the First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Clara Ann Kilburn of Wellsboro, PA, three sons: Karl (Melinda) Kilburn of Wellsboro, PA, Jonathan (Oksana) Kilburn of Frisco, TX, Christopher (Loni) Kilburn of State College, PA, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Karl was retired from Commonwealth Telephone Company and enjoyed hunting, raising deer and fish, his 1956 Willy’s – Jeep and taking care of his home and yard.
